The abandoned chair update

We had a "storm" lastnight. I went to my ww meeting but left early because the idea of all the snow falling falling falling on my car was driving me a bit crazy. I didn't even stay long enough for my "I did it" exercise stickers, or any awards. When I got to the parking lot, i could still see foot prints of the last person that came in, so that wasn't so bad. They hold the meetings at a hotel now. Room service being delivered down the hallway as you walk past is not good for a person that didnt have supper and is waiting for the scale before I eat. They were giving out samples too, this crispy wheat crackers, yep just a cracker. It just felt like fluff food, and not a hunger filler or even something I wanted. It did the salty and the crispy of a chip but nothing to write home about. So I get out to the van, brush it off get in, turn on my cozy seat warmer and get ready to leave. Got home when the meeting would have ended and the snwo kept coming.

So this morning's Chair update looks like this!


The storm had called for 15-20cm during yesterday, it started at 430pm, and then 15-25 over night, and some mixed ice and freezing rain in there. We did get some freezing rain at about Midnight. The End results were 13cm total, and this was the morning look from the front porch.


winter happens....

The snow that came and is still here!

It all looks so pretty coming down flakes against big evergreens and then you see just how Deep it gets. This is a patio chair down there, stuck in my snow. It's "My" snow I get to keep it until about April, some years, I'm just so lucky it's May!


I wanted the pictures to show up in the opposite order but it's beyond my abilities today. My brain is probably snow blind!
I would like to Congratulate the USA on the swearing in of their new President today, #44! I'm sure I like most people from all over the world will be watching what comes next. I hope he can do a better job of Presidenting the I can with presenting this post. :)

It's Winter, I need to get over it

It's Winter, this I know and it comes every Year but still I'm not happy with my current state of FROZEN!!! Where is the Sun, it's out there, it was out there on Friday, but it's sooooooooooo far away from my current location that I woke up to Mr Radio man telling me it was -47C!(-52.6F) BRRR, that weather doesn't even allow for the thoughts remove covers, put feet on cold floor. It makes you want to curl up in a ball and say things like "honey could you drive the boys, I don't want them to stand out there for 5minutes waiting for the bus" or "maybe the boys shouldn't go to school today, what if the school loses power?" and my favorite, "maybe today is the day we should call family PJ Day?" nope I got up and honey drove them to school and dropped them off to the principal who opened the van door for them and got them to school. Now the best part of this story? Honey's Van is older, like uh in 2yrs it will gain classic time line status, and his heater works, Mine? is 11yrs younger, and no heat! zip Nada, not a BIT! We plugged his van in(we really means me, I wasn't going out there!), and so it started up first try, mine? DEAD! no charge at all, battery in frozen state of not going to start by it self. I'm sure somewhere in our garage we have my battery warmer, but I haven't seen it lately.
So that's the cold, well Sunday it warmed up enough to snow, yep, it started about 11-1230pm and went on all day. I think there was a break for a wind or 3 and then it snowed and snowed and snowed, and now today, I have my family PJ Day. Honey snow blowed the driveway, because he says it will warm up again, but with warming up again, will bring, EVIL frozen Rain! so must keep pathways clear as possible, so that we have less slip sliding away. I'm sure it will get cold again. I'll try to get my camera out today and take you all a picture so you can understand just HOW much snow is out there, my world is WHITE! very Very white. In the fall we left a Plastic Chair out on the back lawn, it snowed and froze to the ground before we got to move it, so it's still there but you'll understand when you see the height of the snow vs Chair.
oh how I miss sitting in a chair in the sun... only 8 more weeks to spring right?

Pondering 2009

So it's January, again! 3yrs I"ve been doing this blog, slowwwwwwwwwly filling it in and now I'm here again, another January, another year getting into full swing.
New Years, was just another night, we stayed up kind of, ok so I fell asleep inbetween examining my eyelids and then opened them long enough for my midnight kiss, and went to sleep almost instantly. The house for the month of December was full of "yummy" and bad for us things. We had tube chips, and bagged chips, we had cookies and squares, and cakes, and a night of highly fatted fried chicken and I didn't do quite enough work outs. The last 2wks were the worse. A few bad habits wont kill your goals but a lot of bad habits? uh yeah they add up, so I'm going to the Altar of Truth on Wednesday night so see the damage. I did need the break and that part was enjoyable, it's fun to just let go for a bit. I needed it,NOW though I need to recover. hA! recover, what a word.
The gifts I got for Christmas were helpful. I got a George Foreman Grill, well it's a G + Broil, and it's nice. My only flaw is that I've been "wrapping" my grilled meat! and uh the wraps are adding to the calories...oops, oh and the cheese... I will fix this. I'll move on to just veggies and meats. The kids don't seem to be enjoying our new ideas though, they haven't eaten anything I've tried to make them on it other than hotdogs. EWWWWWWWWW
WOW just reading that I've realized just how much I think about food. how can that be healthy? I'm going to have to think about that.
