If your Children and yourself are at a Sporting Event? wouldn't you want to see how your kids are doing? Wouldn't you want to be able to see the event? Yesterday I had the opportunity to take my 2 youngest Sons to my Middle Son's Cross Country Race. The School did a wonderful job sponsoring this event. I love that they include every Child that wants to join from Grade 3-5. It's a great way for kids to feel accomplished and every Racer gets a Ribbon. It's a feel good event. 
My complaint today comes from the parents that think that their child is so very important that they don't need to follow the Rules. The event happened in a public park, and while they couldn't close the track for the race they had an area roped off for the spectators while the race was going on.  I had my 5yrold with me. He sat down "behind" the rope so he could see his older Brother run. He's a great Cheerer, but about 8 times another child from another school or even my children's school would step OVER MJ and stand infront of him. I had to repeatedly point this out to them.  Parents were no better. All  of the children pushed the rope that was to keep the spectators out of the Runners way out into the Running track. I spent more time worrying that some child would trip over another child then I did enjoying seeing my child run this race. The majority of the race happens outside of that area, we don't see them for about 3/4 of the race. 
I'm not pleased that I had to pull the rope back myself to keep these kids off the path. I'm not pleased that I was the only parent doing this? The teachers also couldn't keep their kids off the path. I am not pleased. 
I will say that one Teacher from our Sponsoring School did an Excellent job! she did it so covertly that it worked. She was going around with a plastic bag to collect all of the empty Juice Boxes for deposit. When she did this? She moved along the line each step moving the kids back out of the line of the track. This didn't work for the whole race but it did move the kids for a bit. 
OK I think I'm done complaining. My AJ came in 53rd for Grade 4 boys!! This is a 4 place advance from last week. Hubbie will take them running again Saturday. TJ is also in Cross country. He'll be running at the same park this afternoon, but with the Middle School Crowd. 


and of course I forgot my camera!! this is getting serious, I may need to get a cellphone with a camera at this rate. Anyone in Canada want to order Avon? or Become an independant Sales Rep?(it is not a Pyramid Scheme as such) :p

I'm really not having a lot of "new" thoughts lately. Life here is kids, Animals and weight loss/gains, oh and Avon. That's it! there isn't much else going on but I did today get me some "fan mail". hehe It was nice to get this message lastnight just before heading to bed.

Yesterday was Hubbie's Birthday. I bought him a pie. He doesn't want Cake for his Birthdays so he likes Pie now I didn't go all "domestic" on this one. I bought the pie!! his favourite is Lemon Meringue. I did buy some Lard this week with hopes I could try to make pie crust but didn't get it done. Pies make me nervous and I know this topic has come up else where. I almost read the same post from Carmen from MomtothescreamingMasses. She though took the bull by the horns and baked the pie!

The apple Crumble? gone there is no trace of me having baked two of them this week. Well there might be on my Ass? but no sign in the pans. oops! 

I'm sure the Altar of Truth(scale for my weight watching) will not smile fondly on me this week.Also not helping AJ just baked cookies... I skipped it this Wednesday due to all the running around that seems to come with having 3 kids in two schools.

The boys are in the full swing of school.  $ forked out this month for teams and band and so on? 450.00! so far.  I'm a bit confuzzled on this one. Why is it that school band for one middle school is 50.00 but for our school band, it's 220. Both schools are in the same district? Does this not feel like there's some kind of inequality for these kids? Why would a school over there, be more fitting of only paying 50.00 and my Children's school almost 5times? that much? things that make you go hmmmm Failure in Education again Provincial Government!! And you all want me to vote for you this week? uh no!

Now on to Katy Perry. I don't think it's a big deal at all. Maybe if people got less up in arms about cleavage, I would have got less "Stink" eye when putting my children to the Breast for food? BOOBS happen people. My boys all watch the video well the oldest didn't he wasn't home when I showed it.. wait let me find him.... he's 11. 

"That was just weird... it would be good with the original song versions" hmmmmm I'm not even sure I know the original words. So there you have it 11yrold  boy? it's just weird I asked him to explain? "wrong words and elmo??"  

You also have to realize we now have 1 station that comes in with fuzzy reception as our total tv viewing. We don't see a lot of this stuff and Sesame Street is no longer part of the Canadian viewing unless you are paying for US stations or kid TV.

So it's Tuesday, i'm not at the dentist with anyone but I did have a business meeting today, so I guess it's Meeting day now? No it's Random Tuesday.. click away...

So I had another meeting that keeps me on task for selling my Avon. That woman is great! I was almost ready to give up but you know? I want to do it, I want to do well. Now about this make up? I'm going to need me some lessons. Do you think if I go to a make up place, get lessons to doll myself up a bit? would it be called a business expense?


Boys are having a pretty good week. I think I solved the lunch box problem. Boy didn't check lunch box for his own initials. He went to school with his brother's lunch. HE didn't eat any sandwich. Hungry boy. Day 2? he checked!

We're hoping to do running this month but we'll see how that fits in with my boys.

Did you know? being the Parent Volunteer for your child's kindergarten class, is fun! why is it that no one told me this? we went apple picking. I think "I" learned something new.


I got my hair cut last Friday. It looks much better, and less frizzy. I just have to find something that will help it stay less frizzy.

Critter count. No sign of the raccoon and his balls butttttt yes there's a but, not a butt, one of my neighbours told me that another neighbour had the Department of Natural Resources in her yard. Guess what they were doing?

Yep! moving one of these....


Now I don't know if this is the one that was eyeing my barn in June or a different one? I decided not to ask him questions when he showed up in June about whether he'd be back. I continue my walking in the evenings and now I've been also doing a bit of walk in the day.

Also Monday mr5 decided he needed to be on the bus the second it showed up! so he almost ran out into the road.  Mralmost 9 saved him. It is now my job to go out at 710am also to wait for the bus. brrrrr and zzzzz come to mind.

I baked an apple crisp yesterday after apple picking. There is no more apple crisp in the house, incase you were wondering?

6-7 chopped apples (peeled)
3/4 cup flour,
3./4 cup oats (not the instant)
1 cup PACKED brown sugar,
1/2 cup cold margerine
1tsp of cinnamon (a bit more if you like it)

fill the pie dish, or shallow casserole dish with the sliced up apples, then in a bowl mix all the dry ingredients, use a pastery blender or fork and make a crumbly mixture in the bowl. It might look like beach sand with oats. Make this your top layer and pat it down over the apples. Bake at 350 for about 30-40minutes (depends on your oven and how you want your apples to feel)

yummy! I also made apple muffins. I think I've shared that recipe before I think.

I thought this post might be a bit necessary because I'm getting a lot of "interesting" shall we say? emails.

I'm not going to fund any of your long lost relatives finally dying wishes for your financial security by giving you my bank info. I have none

You aren't going to get rich selling me stuff? because I'm not going to get rich selling you anything


Life? yep hard work, I'm going to work hard to keep it that way.

Kids? need a lot of guidance. That Guidance might have me drinking on a Wednesday night but before that drink? I'm going to deal with the kids.


School? Is a learning process for everyone. This week I learned that I will need to give my kids a lot of guidance because it's my job.


If you are an idiot to someone? they will be an idiot back to you

Stupid questions happen but if you don't ask, you still end up stupid. It's a no win situation. Ask the question.


I think I really really really have ot say I like the summer months of kids arguing better then the school months.

Well there we have it another Tuesday on the blog and I've gone over to read about Keely's Zucchini feast and here I am with a huge Bag Pipe Bag Size of Zucchini that I've obtained from my neighbour. She's also having a Zucchini feast but she keeps giving away the Zucchinis. Also Tip from here Keely? Grate up your Zucchini and put it in smallish zipper bags all ready measured for your chocolate cakes. In January when you want Zucchini cake? BAM! your good to go.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get 4lbs of Zucchini off my counter. On the plus side it looks like I have so much food in the house I have no room in the fridge? or wherever for the Zucchini?

So Friday? If anyone was reading or wondering what was up? I met with the District Manager for Avon. You are now looking at the new Independent Sales Representative for AVON. Ok so now? not unemployed, now? self employment that doesn't involve the production of children, and laundry.


Critter Count(CC)- Racoons? have balls! the sensor light came on at the back deck, we look out the door and there sitting on the step? Kyoot eyes looking back at us. They were eyeing Mr 5's Tomato plant. We are at 87 tomatoes harvested since July.
Also CC-mice! I was out to pick up Mr 5 from the bus stop and I'm waiting and waiting because well first part of the year, schedules? aren't. So I get the boy and on the walk back to the house? DEAD stiff! mouse. ick! speedy email to the DH in charge of everything the wife wont do, and he was taken care of. I also pinky swore mr8.75(OMG... why do they get old on me) to not tell anyone in the house about said Stiff critter because I knew the next thing I'd have was 3 boys poking it with a stick? ICK!!!!!
more CC? I swear it's one of those "want rabies Petting Zoos here" someone's dog was out and about barking at random walkers.  Why? people, did the Raccoons Bite through their leashes? I don't mine friendly quiet dogs but yappy, happy, jumpy, run down anyone in a minute dogs? nope!

I'm so glad i'm a cat person even though it didn't start that way. My Aura came to us because my hubbie was trying 14yrs ago to convince me that we get a RAT! NO! I'll go for the AT and Give you a CAT! First child? Fur baby.

Also it's Election time around here. The NDP signs? And the PC signs? all ended up in a neighbour's ditch? Now this could have been a ploy by someone else to make it look like the Liberals did it? but really maybe the Liberals did it. Rhino? anyone? Why bother, no one is going to change anything.

Also what is it lately? Is everyone I see hooked on something? not legal? I go to the Grocerystore? the playground? or am I just too observant for my own good?

Also make up?hard to sell when you wear very very little of it, and the eyes on the pages are sparklier then the guys in front of the Grocery store.  I guess it's a style? I wonder if I can write off Fashion Magazines as a business expense? mmmmmmmm?

Looking around the House

I have to ask this question. I have 3 boys all out to school today. I'm sitting here sipping my tea. I have to clean the house, I have someone coming to talk to me tomorrow at 10am about doing some "product sales" as I will call it. It's all "door to door" "web to site" or whatever. I wont give you all the details until I know them. I know I love the company's products so why not spread the love?

So in preparation for this meeting tomorrow, I'm looking around the house and noticing all the dust that I've left sit for the 7yrs we've lived here. I know I did some preChristmas or Pre EasterBunny or even Speed cleaning for guests (that are family) during those Seven years? but really? How on earth do the rest of you people manage to keep up?

Where do I start? I was sitting in the hall lastnight with a wash rag removing spots of unknown origin. I've  also come to realize I totally need a new Vacuum.  How is it that I've been using this thing and thinking it's picking up anything. There is Duct Tape on the hose!  (psssssssssssttttttttt sears Canada? send me a free vacuum? just saying)

Soooooooooo what ever will I do. I asked Hubbie with a wiggly eye whatever will I do now that he house is empty? (he hadn't left for work) and he says "Clean?"

I said "If you say that again?I'm going to have to throw a Tote full of STUFF you left hanging around the front door at you! because you really don't get it!"  

OK what are the rest of you all doing now that your kids aren't in the house? Please someone tell me?

Random Tuesday, School Season, Bambi, First Sick Day of the year!

YAY~! I got the button to work, wooohoooooo go me! Some days? I have to wonder who's running this brain up here. Whose brain is it? So if you're up for some Random stick around here, I've got plenty this week, and if it's not enough go on click the button and get more over at Keely's (pssst whatever happened to Kelly? does anyone remember? and wonder just what did Keely do to silence her? just saying... Zombies were mentioned)

So today is of course the first day of school for our district. And TJ went off to middle school with Hubbie and I'm hoping he found his classroom and locker. I was not ready for Jr. High when I was his age. He didn't seem one bit fizzed. I can't wait until he reads the code of conduct "NO insubordination" now really? Does that sounds like a respectful word to you? or Military Camp?

AJ came to see me at midnight holding his pillow.. yep! sick! the pillow had to be hosed down (still covered in Plastic so YAY! wipable) and I got his bed all cleaned up. Put him back to bed... 2am. "MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM"
Well guess who isn't going to school for the first day?


MJ is due to go tomorrow, we'll see if he doesn't catch AJ"S sick. ugh! So now they are playing video games. I guess if you're sick it's okay to do that? right?

So then there is the Bambi problem. Last week on the way to the beach? I'm driving see this HUGE deer. I slow down and let her cross. Boy she was slow. I get the van moving again slowly and out of the corner of the ditch? BAM! Bambi showed up! and bent my licence plate. I still feel bad about that. It bounced back but I assume it's gone now due to the trauma?

We went swimming, the River though is low, very low. It was the last day we went. Last night Hubbie took TJ out to play with his huge RC on the sand. He said the water was beautiful and clear? but again very very low. He said he had to walk out further just to dip his toes. This is even after Earl's all day Rain event Saturday? Mostly just rain and wind was Earl's game plan. The back yard is cleaned up though, no toys all over from summer.

We harvested 1 of our Potato plants and found 3 small potatoes. We threw one in the woods because some ants were already chowing down on it. ick! the other plant is still there.

MJ got a taste of computer games on Mommy's computer this week. He wants to hog it! Do you knwo how hard it is to say "Mommy's working" with a straight face when you are playing Frontierville on Face book? at least when I'm reading blogs he can see I'm typing. Soon though he'll be in school (insert evil laugh) and I'll have it all to myself. I'll have all the computers in the house to myself. Darn and the cleaning. ugh!

Now who will pay me to "work" while the boys at at school? "Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?"

Friday Fill ins, EARL previously Known as Labour Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend to all who celebrate it. And...here we go!

1. Family _time will be the highlight of the weekend, how can you not spend time with your family while riding out a hurricane? We'll see how it goes____.

2. __The idea of the kids going back to school and I'm so not ready supply or mentally, so I go__ back and forth.
