So that's it for 2009!

Happy New Year!!! No more cleaning for 2009, and no more dieting this year, no more laundry either, I'll leave it all for next year...

I do Resolve to Blog more in 2010! It worked for 2009, so I'll have to work on that more. And I also resolve to find my resume I printed out 2yrs ago. 

Happy Winter

Now we can officially say it's Winter. Get out your Yule Logs, Happy Solstice.
We didn't seem to get any of that storm that came up the east coast of the US.
The boys were all out today sliding down the front lawn. There are 2 left out there now. AJ isn't very snow happy. MJ and TJ will be frozen into ice cubes before they come in, I've already replenished their mittens, hats and drinks.  I think they are building a fort? It looks promising as I watch from my warm kitchen. hehe
AJ will stay in here with me, do a little wii and bake some PB cookies. I've got 2 recipes. I used a wheat free version yesterday. We had dinner guests and the Mom is allergic to wheat so PB, sugar and eggs worked. I did make a cherry pound cake too for the kids. They seemed to like it.  Since all the Peanut Butter cookies are gone I'll have to get another batch on the go today. AJ likes to bake more now then he ever did before. It's amazing to me now how much help the boys are with all the little chores of Christmas. 
Last week the boys put up the tree, and decorated it after Hubbie hooked up the lights. It looked good, I only had to move about 4-6 ornaments that they "accidently" hung on the light wires. Not bad and a lot easier then doing it all myself. So now back to the baking.

I did put in 52minutes on my wiifit today. That may help me keep moving forward as I've been very lax on my workouts and eating, so now I know it's Christmas but if I don't pay attention it will get so much worse then this~! Keep on keeping on! So this is my Laxish HASAY update, for month 15! (or I think 5 for me)

The Ginger Bread Men met with certain demise not one single one came home. The container was empty, the crumbs were even gone, and we didn't even pretty them up with icing. We're all about the Simple here! He didn't want to ruin them with icing. The picture I posted yesterday is now hanging on a Bulletin Board in an elementary School in BC, while we live almost at the other end of Canada. So my Child has Art work hanging in BC.

Great now I need a dictionary to check my spelling. I miss those red squiggly lines every 4-8 words.  I'll totally be spelling Randome all Radomly now Randomly?

Tuesday, no dentist today. YAY!Next year

MJ made a Christmas Tree to hang on our Christmas tree. Simple! I cut a triangle out of green felt. He stuck  all his baby Mickey Mouse sticker from last year on the tree, and I stuck a hook in the top. EASIEST craft ever, see I'm not just sitting here clicking and creeping your blogs and walls. Nope.

Snow,yep more it's out there, I'm in here, it's warm I'm good. Happy.

TJ is doing more Math this week, LOTS more math practice. The boys if given a choice would do NO homework in math and just READ. I can't let that continue.  Science and Math "are good for you, good for your hair and your fingernails too..." oh wait that's a poem about Alligator Stew Dennis Lee
The boys really like that book and the poems are catchy.


More baking happened. Snickerdoodles, now I have to ask? why is that the name of this cookie? who was snickering at doodles? I'm not the only one that thinks like this, I've got 3 boys!

I think I'll be going sledding today, there has to be a way to get this weight off. Weight? oh yeah, I was working on losing? well anyone out there that is also working on losing? I've found your weight you can have it back now. No Finders Keepers for me!

There is only so much SpongeBob a mom can stand.

I had more ideas in my head but they re lost in the jumble of tree, school, concerts, DVDs, kids time, and OMG they will be home with me next week, and I will have to get ideas, and wrap gifts without them finding me. ACK! help!

YAY for Holiday School Projects

My Son's Grade 3 Class has a project due last week. The Paper part went in Friday and the "Presentation" by the students were Today. Sunday we did our baking. OH the Baking my boy can do! I'm so very proud of him, and his ability to get just the right amount of Ginger Bread Men made for his class mates and some leftover for his brothers. He shared them wonderfully and now for your Viewing Pleasure... 

Boy + Ginger Bread Baking=Danger for Ginger Bread Men. 

Recipe from allrecipes.com called Eileen's Spicy GingerBread Men. So yummy, and if you want them a touch crisper? replace 1TBSP of the Molasses with Corn Syrup.

Yummy Orange Loaf, Aj's Favorite

The orange loaf works out every single time. When I was waiting for MJ to be born I think I baked it about 8times in 2wks. :)AJ now loves it. It came out of a recipe book I received as a wedding shower gift. You know the kind, everyone submits a recipe and they print it to raise money. This was for a hospital fund. The book is so very well used that now the covers, and binding are gone! The Orange loaf page is a mess, along with the Brownies for a Crowd recipe that was used for the new roof in May. I hope you like it as well.
EAsy too!

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening, (Cream together)
2 eggs,
rind of one orange... See More
1tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup flour
1tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

topping,

1/4 cup sugar, and the juice of 1 orange boiled together until disolved.
I use the mixer for loaf batter, and then bake at 350 for 15minutes, then 325 for an hour.
Pour the sauce over the loaf while it's in the pan, wait about 1/2 hour before taking it out.

no breadmaker needed.
OHHHHHHHHH and when you are putting the shortening in and using the handy measure on the side of the box to cut it? Take all the wrapper off first. This morning I took this loaf out of the freezer for breakfast. AJ says "mom there's paper in here" yep! the wax paper from the shortening got cooked into that part of the loaf. I pulled it out and we ate the LOAF not the paper. oops!

First "storm" of the Season

It's snowing.
My BBQ is still outside.
The boys will mostly likely be home tomorrow for a snow day.
The snow hasn't really started. Flake 1 and 2 have been sighted but I nothing since,and the cancellations have started on the radio.
Hubbie has been asked to bring home Milk, Eggs, Butter, and Bread, just incase of starvation, this never happens, it's just that well those things are empty at the moment.
The boys have a Christmas concert tomorrow, maybe.
Tuques and mittens, skipants and jackets are all lined up at the door for the mad morning dash to the bus, iffff there is a bus.
All cars have been snowtire ready for 2wks now. This is the most ahead we've ever been for winter.
The snow blower is tuned up, and the shovels are by the doors.
Deck chairs are on the deck vs on the lawn, see there's already snow out there from 3days ago, it's just not going to melt before tonight, but maybe if we get the rain too, it will all be gone tomorrow.

And GO Hockey, oh wait it's not Saturday so no "Hockey Night in Canada" tonight.

Update from my small help staff of 3 in the wii department, flakes 50-80thousand have arrived.

Snow? yep it's here, yep yep my ground is white, there are snow flakes glowing in my house bedroom windows and more snow coming. It's now a new tradition I think, struggle to not cancel the kids Christmas Concert? I'm sure of it, I remember I think when TJ was in grade 2? I slid my van into the parking lot. I also remember talking myself up after wards. SEEE you've got skills! your Canadian, you can drive in this stuffs? do you ever have to do that?

Snow!

Christmas is coming, And I'm still not ready but today, today I made more efforts. There are twinkling lights on garland hanging from my kitchen counter, there are pinecones and green garland over my livingroom door way. There is a SANTA! on my Curio Cabinet. The Curio moved out of it's normal corner. I'm using the corner this year, instead of smooshing myself and my kitchen chair againsts my desk. I'm hoping there's enough room. My tree is 7feet tall.


The boys are excited, but not helping me out. What happened to "you better be good for goodness sakes?" Goodness? where? not in my house!

No but they do save some goodness for outside the house. Lastnight AJ was in a Christmas Carolling event in the mall. VERY cute!

Chairs are all in off the lawn this year, no chairs escaped, I suspect there will be no "abandon chair" picture this winter season

I talked to my inlaws today, discussing gift ideas for my niece, and they told me they have a fox in the neighbourhood there. I said you must have brought him from here because I haven't seen mine. They said he/she came right up and sat on their next door neighbours front step, and watched TV? Critter that watches TV? I wonder if it was watching FOX? Maybe that's why my Fox left? no cable?

books? is it ok to throw out old University books? That book shelf looks very Full, Accounting principals? Macro Economics? Marketing? Do I need them? I should keep the parenting book though right? I might find Goodness in there?

Oven mits! totally time to throw them out when your fingers aren't covered but why are those ones the most comfy?

I did break down and do some baking today, I made an orange loaf, I put it in the freezer to keep me out of it, and AJ too, it's his favorite. I'll make him another one.

Tuesday also means dentist, today child needs a spacer

Said Child is home "sick". I'm not sure he's THAT sick but I had to keep him home to keep other's healthy. i'm damn if I do and damned if I don't. I think for some reason he just likes being home? Why I haven't figured out.

I'm doing more reading lately then commenting, not enough hours in the day and besides, my virtual food is spoiling, at my virtual restaurant? not enough hours...


The snow came, it's still here since yesterday even with rain! BRRRRR!

Anyone want to buy an old van? not mine the "his" version? Old but great for mud runs.

I'm going to quit cooking real food soon it's just pointless, no one eats anything I make? The kids look at it and turn up their noses, so I'm going with the take it or leave it but there is nothing else attitude. I'll save a lot of time this way.

I got my hair done, it's only been what? 6months overdue? why does mom always come last?


Christmas? not ready this week either. Maybe I'll get more ready next. I do know where everything but the extension cords, are located. I'm thinking of not doing Christmas cards.

I've been doign these randoms since about May or June? Maybe that's enough of a Christmas year end letter?


I hate feeling rushed, today I'm rushed.

And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to __taking my fixed van out to Moonlight Madness, (think Black Friday at night because Canadians are at work in the morning)___, tomorrow my plans include __having my sister visit, and bowling and maybe seeing Santa in his Parade___ and Sunday, I want to __have fun with my kids which might include them letting me play video games "with" them___!

Tuesday are Random they pop up Randomly

Yep it's Tuesday again, ever notice how it Randomly shows up in like the almost middle of the week, not quite the middle, but randomly placed, ok so no it's not showing random but I'll make it random.

Dishwasher now works much better. A Valve had to be replaced, it was a little gunked<-- (new word apparently, ADD! )up from previous 17yrs of use or so. ICK! Hard Water is not cheap.

I did some easy baking this weekend, Peanut Butter cookies those 3 ingredient kind, egg, PB, and sugar, done! bake, and done. gone!!! all goneeeeeeeeeee the boys ate them almost the minute the got in the house. They didn't leave a crumb for Hubbie. He was not amused.

Friday was not a happy day here, my son was picked on and I'm not happy about it in the least. I will be talking to the school after I cool down. For all the talk about not bullying there wasn't a lot done about it either.

Christmas is coming and I'm not ready, I keep procrastinating, I've got to start making lists so that I can DO something! at the rate I'm going I wont have anything done because I haven't started the list and then I'll leave something half started or not done.

More tea, must have more tea.


Weight loss has turned into weight gain, it has nothing to do with the cake but it might have something to do with the leftover Halloween chips. Those chips? they say 90cals per serving but I swear when I look in that bag it should say less then 90cals, cause there is no way 5 chips can be 90cals?

I've decided I'm not going to be baking this Christmas, nope not going to do it. If you want shortbreads, I'll buy you one of those pre-made cans of the stuff or go to a bake sale and have someone else do it and wrap it and tag it and seal it up with duct tape. Yep that should help. Me? Glutton? no just impulsive eater or Seefood diet.



I've going to wrap up the random, I've got nothing else to put in here, I'm boring this week, nothing big happened, no chairs were covered in snow, no kids were curling(tournament at the arena), bowling was ok, we supported them well with the purchase of chocolate bars. I spent too much time researching how they get the caramel inside. The kids did help though, they offered to eat it all for me.


Oh I went to see my son do Judo this week, he's good, and those "games" they play (warmup, and theory) would probably have me sleeping on those judo mats! where do kids get all their energy? play play play, fight fight fight, play play play, laugh, run, jump, play?? Drum Drum Drum.


I don't even have pictures to add today. There are no leaves on any of my trees, there are no deer coming to visit. I think all the gophers are asleep, all the raccoons ate all the berries on the bushes, and all the skunks are curled up under my baby barn.

Randome Tuesday Thoughts, not Though

Happy Birthday to me is over. The cake was fabulous but I didn't eat it until today, also it was 1/2 a cake. we didn't buy a whole cake this year. There are only 5 of us in the house. This was a good call because well the boys don't appreciate the value of a nice chocolate and caramel covered Cheese cake with brownies. I'll post pictures too, as soon as they are off the camera.


Homework is going to kill me, it wont kill my kids but it's killing me and no it's not making anyone stronger mentally.

AJ is home today but I'm thinking his "I'm sick"was just the results of that cheese cake and his poor belly. He and cheese are not good friends at the best of times. I knew there would be consequences. I had a back up plan, lemon tarts, he ate both. Poor belly. Now I'm going to get him in the car, after I trick him into getting dressed and send him to school. He's certainly well enough to drive me nuts!


Its so funny sometimes seeing the clothes that the older boys wore at a younger age, on MJ now. Where is my Baby?

Did I mention Homework is going to kill me?

The Deer were Back on the weekend but they are down to 3 vs 4, so maybe it was a different family, or some other family is happily patting their full tummies in a house? Hunting season is on right now from what I understand. You can't shoot them in your yard. I would never shoot them because I wouldn't eat them. I was talking to the neighbours and apparently 15yrs ago before the big Highway went in here it was common to see a mom and her triplets? I wonder if my sighting in September/October was children or grandchildren of that line?

Gophers? are not nice.

Getting homemade cards from your kids is one of the bests gifts ever. The looks on their faces when they hand it to you and watching you unwrap( looseleaf over other paper) is fun.

I do not think there will be any Abandon Chair this year, so far no snow is sneaking into my neighbourhood and the chairs are on the deck. I may even get a chance to put them away in the garage?

But the cat knows what to do with abandon toddler chairs


my new dishwasher runs great, YAY!! but someone has already stained the racks with spaghetti sauce.

Happy MY Birthday (and the brother and sister)

Yep Today is my Birthday, no we're going to not focus on the people I share my day with, ME it's all about me! :P OK and My Brother and Sister, but I was here first. Yep ME !


Happy Birthday to ME!! My FB is full of Wishes, that's one plus of the site, you are never ever forgotten on your Birthday, your friend's list comes alive that day. I got my first Birthday phone call from my sister, it was on the call Display so I could pick up and say "Happy Birthday" instead of "hello" heheh. My SIL wrote on her status "Happy Birthday (Brother, Sister) and (Me). It's really fun to see your name Everywhere! It's almost like being Famous but not.

So Happy Holiday in my Family Day! My plans?
Well I'm still in pjs at 9am so that's going well.
Breakfast and tea, that's done.
I got a Card from Hubbie lastnight because it wasn't rated G for the boys to "read" haha or hear me reading, hehehe
I got a dishwasher delivered and installed by Friday into Saturday. It works! no Leaks, and the dishes come out clean vs putting them in again for another go. Yes I'm totally that kind of person. I HATE with every ounce of HATE doing dishes. I hate it so much I wont let my kids do it for fear they will grow to hate it as much as I hate it when they are older and live with Dishes STACKED for more then 24hours because they are avoiding doing dishes because they HATE them. It's that bad!
My Mom and Dad came to visit me Thursday night, they drove the 7hours from the island and then left Saturday morning to go to my other brother's house (not the Birthday brother). They were all about the Costco shopping from what I understand. It was a nice visit, they washed my dishes.
Friday night hubbie and I went out shopping without kids. FUN!There were no movies playing I Wanted to see. I could go see a movie for free today but nothing is playing. I think all the good movies are waiting for US Thankgiving Weekend. Bummer for us. They should have a GREAT ME holiday release date for Canada. ME did I mention it's all about ME (and the brother and sister? )
Tonight I'll be having Cheese cake I think, I've left the planning of that to the Hubbie (xing fingers) I'll try to remember to take a picture so it last longer.

Friday Fill-ins, Memories of Turkey...

What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is __the Turkey but this year, back in October I compromised and made a Ham for my son, well no it's not the same, so last week when Turkey went on sale, I went nd bought me my Turkey! YUMMY! we had turkey dinner, then hot turkey sandwiches, then cold turkey salad Sandwiches, and finally I managed to get me some Turkey and Ranch Wrap. YUMMY Turkey!_______. (if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is ____not even started, I'm waiting for better prices______.
4. Thoughts of ____decorating this house now_________ fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear ______my hair short sometimes but then I'd kick myself for getting it cut________.
6. Bagpipes ___are what played when I walked down the aisle more then 14yrs ago_____.

Let me see... Halloween? went well. Boys had lots of fun. MJ quit after first street, (about 15houses), AJ came back out with me and TJ and friends, he quit at 4 more houses and a Belly ache. He had too much milk that day, and was way excited. Then TJ and Friend kept going with me, We hit about 15more houses. TJ is the only one with any treats left. The majority of treats were Chips this year. Great, they can go in lunches.

Costumes? I didn't get around to posting, will now hijack the "wife's" pics...


In the above picture, I own Alvin, Clifford, The mrs Ann of green Gables in lovely dress s/he bought herself, and the GhostRider at the end with orange bag. The extras are friends of the family. Clifford is a rerun from Ghost Rider's First Halloween in this neighbourhood. One house recognized that, because she's a teacher. Teachers love book characters. (or so I've been told)

MJ is starting school next September. I went to my first "parents only" meeting lastnight. HOLDME! my baby is going to school! I had a hard time when TJ was going but this really? yeah I'm not ready. He's ready, the most ready of all, as he will be the oldest at the start but oh boy!

Speaking of boys, Aim! it's a huge deal boys, STOP PEEING everywhere! It's going to make everyone sick.

Speaking of sick, Teachers? Stop licking your fingers when picking up papers to hand out. This happened lastnight, the coordinator for the "preschool introductions" was licking her fingers to seperate the pages. ugh! The sponge plan is no better. I got the nerve up to say "excuse me please stop licking your fingers", I then turned as red as clifford but come on people! Panic Demic going on.

Speaking of that Panic, Big advertisements telling people to go get the shot, advertise them to go get that shot, and then??? LINE UPS! people at the kid school clinics that aren't suppose to be there. I didn't even bring the kids to the germfest.


Oh And not everyone uses babysitters and has family in town. I had to sign myself up for something for Jan4th? I don't even know if I'll actually BE in the city? sometimes I feel like I'm trapped in smalltown thinking. They also wanted my neighbour's phone number? I think I had more emergency contact # when I lived in the USA? my neighbours aren't exactly helpful unless they know we have a tool to borrow or expertise on how to fix their "stuffs?" Maybe I need to go back to friendly New England?

Phones got changed over yesterday, the tech that came? he recognized our USA safety Sticker, (we left it on, we're sentimental,and weird) and says "you from (state?)"

Bowling on Saturday TJ's lanes had the highest scores, WOOOHOOOOO! and Hubbie(wife?) says TJ said this "Thanks Dad for getting me interested in Bowling". It was a good feeling! like out of all the things we may be messing up here, this is working.

Curling? yeah I know some of you are waiting... AJ went curling, they start with lessons, terms and practice, then at the end they do a match. AJ this week was the only one with a point, and then he fell on his knee! SMACK on the ice, it hurt! he didn't "cry" but he was having a bit of trouble not crying, they asked him if he wanted to quit, so he said yes and thanked them. Hubbie says he got int he car and looked at his knee, and it seemed ok. AJ then says 'I can't wait to go back next week'. WIN! again, he's totally into this sport. I think I just realized TJ forgot his Judo gear. And there's the fail. On the plus he's got acold maybe he'll just come home and rest?

OK well seems the bag was packed for today, so maybe he just forgot to bring it. The Gas companies are loving me! Trip to town again, that's 4 times this week.

Random! it's life of a mom really Random this Random that. Why is it I keep wanting to put an e on Randome? Maybe I've been reading too much french homework? do they even say the word Randome?

Over the Top? Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Hubbie sent me this little Gem yesterday while clicking away at work and I had to share here with you all.

Over the top? Definitely. We are big on Halloween here. I've come to the decision that since the kids want to have fun, I've got to be part of the fun for it to work. Today I got on my Enthusiastic Mom hair wear and took the boys to bowling. After Bowling I needed to pick up a few things in town, now it's only on the 31st of October that I can walk into any store wearing my spider trimmed hair wear and not get strange looks. If only these people were this much fun the rest of the year. Smiles ROCK!

It's taken some time for Hubbie to come around though, while we dated we went to a costume party, I bought me a "baby" costume, pretty easy to do, but Hubbie came to my parents house to pick me up in his jeans and T-shirt and fall jacket. My Mom helped him out. She dragged out a hunter Orange hat, Vest, my Dad's Checked Flannel Jacket he used for taking in the wood, and found a Gun Case in my Brother's Closet! instant Hunter Costume. The following year we rented bunny costumes. Some woman, in our old town, had a whole basement full of costumes she's made over the years. Two white bunnies made out of Flannel Sheets. We were Kyoot but alas there are no pictures or proof. After we got married, I'd stay home and answer the door and Hubbie would work a late shift. He had little patiences for the doorbell, but once we had kids? YES!I get to dress our kids up as animals. TJ is 10 so there are no pictures of him on the computer in his Cougar suit, he was very cute! AJ also wore the Cougar suit his first Halloween. MJ was too big for the cougar suit the first year so he was a Dalmation. I might be able to find that picture year on here... nope but I've got 3yrs ago, The two Power Rangers.




Tonight the boys are having some friends over to go trick or treating with. Hubbie has volunteered to stay home. He's currently going out to buy his costume parts. He couldn't find enough parts in my wardrobe. This morning the boys were Clifford the Big Red Dog, Red Power Ranger and Batman. Tonight they will be Redo of Clifford, Alvin the Chipmunk, and Ghost Rider.
I think they will have fun and I get to walk the neighbourhood.


So maybe just maybe it's come up in Blogverations (conversations around the blogosphere) that I'm a bit uh over the top? hehehe Well Halloween will be no exception. and it seems that Bex has seen this and awarded me this pretty little award.

It must be Friday somewhere already? so I'm early!

1. "It was a dark and stormy night.", _was designated by some group as the worse intro sentence to a story ever, but I can't remember the name of the group or where I read/heard it_____.

2. _______My sister has a huge collection of books at her house and we were discussing the pile of books and my piles of books and that my piles were read and her piles were read, but by ourselves,____ so I offered to take the books myself. (She in turn will take mine)

3. Rushing out, __to get candy and treats will be the name of the game Saturday night, but I think one of the kids might be allergic to Chocolate? I just don't understand how this happened, MY child allergic to chocolate? I'm allergic in a different way my reaction is just "fat"________.

4. _____During the summer when I was on the island and had that flat tire, I was sitting in the van playing cards with my Mom while the boys were glued to their electronic devices and that's when______...I think I heard a howl!

5. Shhhh... __did you hear that footstep? It must be the deer, it will not be a bear trying to get our your treats________.

6. _______Trick Or Treat Smell my Feet____ give me something good to eat!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _finishing off some costume add ons and getting the boys well rested___, tomorrow my plans include __Bowling with costume party, getting prep for supper done in advance because we have friends coming over to Tick or Treat in our little area vs their apartments, and it's supposed to rain, so I need a bit of a back up plan too___ and Sunday, I want to __get them un-sugared up and ready for going back to school on Monday, I can see it now, sugar? we didn't put any sugar in our lunches? no not us mom, Dad ate it all, so then I've got to desugar him up too___!


Speaking of Sugar... these are sugar cookies with jam and orange and brown Smarties(Canadian Smarties have chocolate) on them for finger nails or Almonds. Now I'll go back to the just nuts since mr allergic to chocolate can't eat these. The photo has both versions in it.

Random Tuesday thoughts-apples of my eye

I don't speak French I can get the gist of something by reading it but I just don't have the confidence to say it. My son? He's saying LOTS! At 10 I suspect next he'll be using all the bad words he learned.


Snow removal? ACK! the snow blower is now in the garage and the lawnmowers are moved to the baby barn. Yep it's coming I can smell it.

Is it just my boys? or are all kids forgetful? I'm struggling here to get my oldest to remember everything he needs to do in a day. I'm also struggling to get him to DO what I tell him WHEN I tell him? Why?

Should the almost 5yrold be the one making the grocerylist? he's writing down things like Relish and Peanut Butter, we dont' eat Relish, oh wait now tomatoes, of course they are all spelled "ILOVEYOU" :) oh ah he just remembered a friend of the family likes relish on her burgers. I think it's love!

Mr Curling is still smiling on his way out the door today, SCORE! for the parents.

oh lastnight I made apple bread, there are no traces that I made said bread now that breakfast is over, well other then my butt! maybe I could dress as a cow?

Apple Bread (machine)
1/2 cup apple Juice
1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
3 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 TBsp butter or margerine
3TBSP Brown sugar. I think dark works best.
1/2 cup peeled cored and chopped apple
(I left out the 1/4cup raisins)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp of yeast (quick or machine style)

I used the white or specialty setting and light crust but I could have done medium I think. It was a bit moist because my breadmaker has lost the handle on the bucket, so I have to wait for everything to cool before I can rescue it.
The boys inhaled about 4 slices each as toast with butter this morning. So again no proof I made it.

I want walking lastnight, and do you know very very quickly a lonely 30many+ woman can walk when she hears animals in the woods, in the dark and it's the week before halloween and every house has orange as their outdoor lighting, which casts some pretty ghoulish looking shadows? Yeah FAST! Butt will thank me eventually.

must buy more batteries for CD players and mp3 players, kids with earphones =quiet!

AJ has a Sport

It took some time this year, but we have found a sport that AJ enjoys. So far, it's going well. We have been doing bowling as a family for about 5yrs now? but this year AJ is not happy with it. He's not happy that he's of age where they no longer to take the gutters out while playing. He's used to his gutters. I will keep him in the "Bumper Buddies" section with MJ and I while TJ and Daddy continue in their kids league. TJ loves and does well at bowling. TJ does Judo after school and 1 evening a week, and TJ has Band. AJ felt left out. He wanted a sport.
We threw a bunch of sports at him, Judo? "no everyone gets hurt,"
Basket ball? "no one plays,"
Baseball, season over,
Soccer? "too much running and someone always gets hurt with the ball,"
Cross Country Running? "Yes but it's only going until October."
What will he do then? You tell us? (no answer)
We asked about Hockey?
"no too many people get hurt, Why do people want to play things where they get hurt?"

So we all sat round the dinner table one night and thought of more sports and finally someone said "Curling!"
then we hear about all the kids he knows that play curling or did play curling and he agreed. Finding out when? and where in this town took a bit of work.
My town has a pretty long history of Curling. It started in the 1800's and continues today. It is a Winter Sport, and so it was just advertised on the radio this month. They had an open house with information for parents and those that wanted to join. Hubbie went to talk to the people. This club was very informative and very pleasant. The club I had emailed before this? I'm still waiting to hear from them.
This weekend was the start for the club Hubbie found. He went Saturday night with his paper work and the $$ and they said come back Sunday afternoon with child! and play. Since he had AJ with him that night they sat down and watched some players in the building play a match. AJ was very excited. He came home went to bed early, cleaned his room quickly, and jumped into his bed without any requests for drinks or anything else he forgot to do. He had his clothes laid out but first???????? Sunday school and Mass. hehe He even went through those things excitedly because well once it was over he gets to learn to curl.
Rush Rush Rush, Curling starts at 12 45pm. Mass over at 1215pm, rush to store grab loaf of bread, run home peanut butter bread, add jam for colour, change into Curling pants, and he's standing at the door peanut butter on his face yelling at Dad to get moving! Hubbie needed to un-stick the PB from the roof of his mouth. That was the last I saw of them until Supper time!

They got home and WOW that smile on an 8yrold? It lights up rooms! he was all excited to show me the tape they put on the sneakers we bought him. I found him a extra backpack I had squirrelled away, and he put them in there. He can't wait to get through school this week to go back again. Results. AJ first week, Team Captain? and hit the target! the boy just learned about 3wks ago that he needs glasses and they aren't in yet but still? he's hitting the target? I wonder what it will be like after the glasses?

I'm still beaming over that smile!!

As requested, Warm Apple Crisp
6-7 Apples sliced
1 cup brown sugar packed
3/4 cup flour,
3/4 cup Oats
1tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter.

Arrange Apples in a buttered (I used pam)9inch pie plate/pan, I have the best luck with pyrex. Combine the brown sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon, Cut the butte rin until crumbly. Press mixture over the apples. Bake at 350F for 45-50minutesor until brown.

Random Tuesday Thoughts, late

Well it's Tuesday again, I know wasn't it just Tuesday last yesterday? no that was last week. On with the Random stuffs in my head. Brain dump goes here.....

One of my friends had a baby last week, oh the pics are adorable, so I did what any sane mom of 3 boys does I went out shopping for girls stuffs for her! It's only fair.

I'm doing the single parenting this part of this week, ACK!!!!! it's not fair to be this tired and have no tag team partner. I don't know how all you single parents do it? I knowyou JUST do but still it's hard!

All my trees are naked so I wont take their pictures anymore until they put their white skirts of snow on. We didn't get any snow this week. Other parts of the country did. (<------hehe ) no I'm not pointing nad laughing at them, I'm uh pointing and laughing ok yes I'm pointing and laughing at them.


The boys know I have no tag team partner, they are totally using my good cop against my good cop.

The laundry? it's multiplying, the coat hangers, and dust bunnies too.

I had an inlaw invasion this past weekend. Yeah that's why I wasn't around for Friday Fill ins. I didn't want them to SEE you all, and well then they would know I"m writing about them! I mean stuff. I only cooked one meal, Friday night, the rest of the weekend? up to everyone else. I love to cook and I love to feed people but not when they say things like "if you're going to make spaghetti, don't make that whole wheat stuff" and "I'll cook it" which I immediately followed up with, "well I wont cook at all then". WE went out to supper that night. oh boy!

4.5yrolds? yeah they don't like to SIT down at restaurants, they want to use their new public potty skills, and tel you about what's on teh floor under the table, and visit the fish, and oh wash their hands and uh look for a toy that isn't there, and make love notes for the waitress on their placemats. yes that part was cute "Mom how to you spell I LOVE You?" OK "Is this a good heart?" it really was a great drawing.

10yrolds? with their own bathrooms and BIG bedrooms? yeah they don't appreciate them at all! I had to pull out the scrubby sponges down there! yikes! "yeah I cleaned my room" oh really?

8yrolds <------ yesterday btw, they you to do everything FOR them and they want to eat Chips, chocolate, cake and pop when their grandparents come to visit. NO! and then then I'm the "mean mom" but wow he's 8 now! ACK! only 5 more years until I can leave him to babysit, so I can escape I mean go for a nice walk.

Homework? yeah that should be illegal and fall under the labour laws for "over work".

Critter counter going up, today I saw a woodpecker attacking my cedar fence.

Oops this was more of a rant. I'll work on better for next week. I promise. I'll do my homework before the kids eat up all my time.

Random Tuesday Thoughts, more Rambling

OK yes there may or may not have been a Holiday in your parts readers so it's might be confusing but yes today is Tuesday. So click the link and find more Random and or stick around and read me Ramble....


Today is the day, I have to sign up my littlest for school next year. This is a big step, I'm a bit nervous, no more baby? I'm not ready, he's totally ready, the boy is making signs like "no pooping on my bed Aura" for the cat, with help from the brothers but he's making the letters and asking "how do you spell" not to be confused with "howwwwwwwww you say..." which would be his bilingual coming through... HA!! OK no he doesn't say that, but it's still funny. "howwwwww you spell..." hahah that he definitely spells and it does sound exactly how you hear Peppy le Pew saying it in your head. And he even bounces, so it fits.

Right now he's trying to make the Mom lose her mind as he's snots all over the DVD collection while also laying the discs on the floor so they are good and scratched. WHYYYYYYYYY???

The 4 letter word was announced on the radio this morning during the weather, you know the word. I suspect this calls for a trip to the department stores so I can go into mass debt buying 4letter word suits, mitts, hats and other stuff they will lose either at the school, or on the bus or at Grandma's house at Christmas.

I baked this past weekend, I baked a Banana Loaf, and 2 batches of apple muffins. Apple Muffins are the best thing I've found for lunches because the boys think that brown sugar topping is candy. I call it essential for the apple to do it's work.

We had our Ham for Thanksgiving but you know after all was said and done and even with headaches branching 3 days I miss the Turkey. Friday I'll buy a turkey, I missed it and yes I know I'll be doing it again in November for my mini Americans but still must have more turkey.

ACK! The Mini Canadian is asking where his Buzz Lightyear Toy is, uh uh uh I think maybe possibly it may have uh flew with style out to the garbage can about two years ago? ... uh oh.... Oh I think this calls for "oh I think we gave it to (nephew), because he's getting to be a big kid?" do you think I'll get away with it?

Oh I had the weirdest Dream ever on Sunday morning, headache kept me in bed until noon,trying to ignore my head pounding, (Darn Buzz made it upstairs, no lying necessary, go me for not letting go of anything) and I woke up and had tell Hubbie the dream. He came in and says "do you want to adopt a saxophone kid or a Trombone kid?" and I said "huh, what about both?" so suddenly I'm in the neighbours yard on the island (beside mom's house), and I'm in their garage, and I see bolted to the wall two vacuum cleaners, one called the Saxophone Windish tunnel and the other the Trombone Windish tunnel, and I start to take them apart to see what they do. Apparently one is supposed to be a Steamer and vacuum. I'm starting to use it on the neighbour's lawn(which suddenly turns into carpet). It's just a steamer, I yell to Hubbie, he's off picking blue berries with my kids in the old horse race practise track I used to go to as a child, and he comes over "yeah it's just a steamer" He's also giving me that "you weren't supposed to get up and look at them" look. So I open it, pull that plastic strap that toys have to turn off the demo program? you know "Elmo wants to be a chicken" and he stops right well the strap that keeps it from stopping and then you kick yourself for taking it out, because you can't stick it back in? So then Hubbie looks at it and says "well it's got a dishwasher in it" and so we buy/adopt that one.
Weird dream but what makes it weirder is that I tell hubbie,and he says "you really want a new Dishwasher don't you?" (yeah I've only been asking for 3yrs) and I said "and a steamer and vacuum too?" then the mean shot "wow you are domesticated!" Yep it's happened I'm dreaming about appliances.

So even my dreams are random, one minute I'm asleep in my bed and next I'm vacuuming my mother's neighbours lawn with my steamer that's a dishwasher.

Yes today is Thanksgiving weekend up here in Canada so today I'm baking a spice cake with AJ and getting ready to have Ham for supper. The boys Grandparents will be here next weekend so I'm saving my Turkey and fixing for their visit. The boys have been off school since Thursday and will be home Monday as well. We usually have our meal on Sunday dinners here so if we have guests they can us Monday for their clean up, travel or lazing around.

Yesterday we went out to meet up with some friends. They are visiting family in the province and seeing the East Coast for the first time. Last night we met in person for the first time. Allison and I have been emailing and chatting and talking on the phone for the last 8+yrs. We met online while expecting our 8yrolds. Yesterday those 8yrolds got to meet for the first time.

The funny part of the whole thing is the boys asked me how I knew Allison, and I said I met her on-line, and that's when the big eyes started staring me down with words like "Strangers, and internet, and careful", so I know they've been listening to me.


Happy Thanksgiving I'm so Thankful for Friends and even Computers! :) I'm also Thankful to Allison's family for hosting us and feeding us and our kids, it's so nice to meet new friends.

so things were a bit rush here yesterday, I've got a lot on my mind and a lot to get completed, so I started. Did some laundry, and the baking and the dishes, then the boys got home. dun dun dunnnnnnnn Homework! Supper! and No more time left to veg. The days are too long!

Hubbie is still trying to fix the slider on my van, the van is 10yrsold and so he's trying, the door is stuck, wont open. Remember the age of vans with only 1 sliding door? yeah that's me. He's using a lot of fast grinding tools.

Random Status updates I made lastnight...
The sound of a grinder grinding into a Van door sounds almost like someone screaming as a grinder slices off your arm...ok yep heart still works.

Mary had a little lamb sounds good on a drum when it's played by your son!! (<----I never hear enough of that song...)

Next up Hot Cross Buns!

I'm impressed now snot wiping and drumming.... hmmmmm maybe he's going to be good at this?

And that led to this doozy...

TJ is playing the drums to his DVD he got at school for band now he's on lesson 21 and a bit of a perfectionist, but he managed to get the other unbusy arm to play the note that the snot arm was due to play.. (I think I'm untrained in this)

On to other Random, the list of things I've done in the last 3 days no one actually noticed so I'll just jot them down so someone will notice....

Baked a apple crisp, because you know the baking just appears out of thin air...
washed the door leading to the basement
Washed the wooden cupboards, and lysol wiped all the door knobs.
Washed the inside of the oven, maybe they will notice the smoke detector going off less often? no they wont...
Washed the baseboards in the bathroom.
Threw out toys they desperately "NEED" to keep but haven't noticed are missing yet, it's been 3days now. ha!
Trying to win money on the local radio program, could be up to 1000.00 but no one will notice because the line is always busy!

No sighting of the bear today, but I still sent the boys out to the bus stop to wait for the bus. Probably a bad mom moment?

Today we don't have dentist appointments we have Eye Doctor Appointments. I swear I heard the receptionist go "chaching" when I said I needed 3 appointments...She laughed when I told her I totally heard her say that...

HASAY, OK I've Procrastinated Enough

Rather then write here today, I baked(I will not post the food porn), I cleaned the counters, I cleaned the doors to the basement, and the cupboard doors in my kitchen. I'm not losing, I'm stuck again. I lost 4.4 in september, but no more after that. I just need .2 for this week to get to 20lbs "again". The "baby" is now 4.5yrs old. It shouldn't be this hard to get this weight off. I know I was so determined the first time I lost. This time it's harder so much harder.

I've been reading everyone's updates, I've seen some awesome progress, and some great attitude. Me? today? my attitude is in the crapper! I've been walking with MJ around the block, he is in his pink Trike and I'm pushing him with a broom stick so that things go Faster! The pace of a 4.5yrold will get me no where, but a 4.5yrold on a Trike being pushed with a broomstick? now it feels like we're doing something. I've asked for help to keep me motivated from my family. I've asked them to eat the healthy food vs the stuff they really want. I want my boys to grow up healthy but they have their dad's motabolism, they look at food and lose weight, I look at food and gain. The big part of this is that "I" have to do it. So I will keep walking and running after that Trike and Away from the Bear! (yes he's back 4miles from here 2 bears were spotted this morning, you can tell it's their garbage pick up day, tomorrow is ours!)

Meals have been better, more veggies are in the house and less snacking. I've bought their lunch snacks all packaged up. They are a bit bummed that I'm not baking more. They want me to make cinnamon Buns, Apple muffins, cookies and even chocolate chip pancakes. I want none of those things to be in my house. If it's packed I wont touch it. A package of mini chocolate chip cookies? not a problem because they are for the kids lunches, and I only buy enough to do so many days. A package of cheese strings? it's theirs,a 500g chunk of cheese? uh now we've got problems.

I made whole wheat pizza this weekend, spicy beef stirfry and salads, those will work. I've journaled for 4wks straight this month, I bite it a write it so the October goal will be to keep that going, and work on the liquids and less fluff. The fluff will fluff you up everytime!

1. I have a history of __not completing school work. I remember having a note put in my book in grade 3 because I didn't finish my work in class and had to finish it at home and my parents had to sign it. I didn't show it until 3-4days later and by then I was in BIG trouble, you know grade 3 size trouble, and so I showed it to my Dad instead of my mom, he didn't read it but MOM did later, and I got in more trouble because I tried to trick Dad. oops!___.

2. __Knitting or Crochet, or sewing without instructions________ is something I wish I knew.

3. I'm eating (or recently ate) ___a lot of necterines, and they are so good, it's hard to stop________.

4. __The Deer were_________ on the road.

5. So that's it, that's _____what my Friday night is, the Hubbie is watching a movie with my oldest, I'm on the internet, remember when Friday's were date night? I want that again______.

6. ______Love is_____ better than nothing!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to... uh that didn't pan out, yet_____, tomorrow my plans include _Bowling, some Grocery Shopping and a Long walk through one of the local parks as a family____ and Sunday, I want to __find out more about a certain sport. I just need to hear back from the person in charge, so I'll let you know more when I know more. It might be Fun___!

Excitment of Tuesday Afternoon

So I was waiting for Hubbie to come home at supper and go out with MJ to the Doctors office yesterday. We got a quick appointment with the Nurse Practitioner lastnight to check out a Gash in his chin he got while "bouncing". I say 'stop bouncing"' but he doesn't listen and yesterday he bounced right into the kitchen counter SMACK! I put a bandaid on it but wanted to verify it didn't need stitches. It went very well, off to the office we went. We could have gone to the ER but I thought that might be a bit more excitment then necessary for the 1/2inch gapping gash. Got it fixed.

Fall pictures

The view from my front door out through the screen porch to my neighbours woods. I love that I get to see this and it's not plastic leaves! I'll have to decorate for Halloween soon, some of my neighbours have started to add pumpkins and scarecrows. I didn't catch any nice pictures of them though.

I took MJ and AJ out for a walk on Saturday afternoon while the Hubbie and TJ were out helping a friend move into her new apartment. Yes I have 3 boys, Yes my youngest son's bike is pink? No we don't care because that bike? FREE~! now that's living on a budget!! It still peddles and it even carries rocks, there were some rocks all over the end of the road here and hard to walk on so we piled them into the back of the Trike and put them in the Big Puddles at the end of my driveway.




And this is what I found on my lawn, ok I found Many
but it's fall! it fell there, I'll leave it until the spring, it will protect the lawn from the heavy snow, and fertilize as it decomposes. Free Fertilizer!


And finally I couldn't leave this picture out, this tree is now 1/2 naked but on the weekend it looked like this. It was a slow and peaceful weekend and these trees are changing in that same fashion, slow and peacefully.

Random Tuesday Thoughts, First Sick Day

Tuesday is back! yep it's back it's almost my favorite day of the week now this makes posting easier because I've got a bunch of things to say but the don't take up a whole posts.



My internet company is still suckage, apparently according to others we'll get a HUGE "bill" that will quote the amount of overage and the a -that amount minus the 25.00 cap! oh joy. Why? I'll never ever really know I'm sure. 2wks, to blow through 95G? I suspect the boys were watching Webisodes of their favorite cartoons? That no TV thing is probably part of the cause.

We've already had homework struggles so many struggles that the boy had weekend homework. Middle child syndrome I suspect. He seems to honestly think that he doesn't have to do homework, or that someone else will pick up the slack? uh no! not in my house! I've already got my "RED PEN" circles for not initializing the homework book. I hate the Red Pen! it's not MY homework!

The critter count is up again, and I have pictures!

The chipmunk came back, and climbed up our screen door, while we were eating supper. We managed to get the camera in time, he wasn't shy at all.



Lastnight I opened the patio door to get some fresh air coming through and what do I see at my back fence? 4 deer. It looked like 1 Does and 2 fawns. The fawns didn't look so tall. I got a "tail" picture.


I didn't move fast enough but Hubbie was in another window and saw them too! so I'm not lying! I'll find those pics,(that's totally a tail, see, ok click on it, it's his butt! back two hooves and that little tiny whiteness is his tail flicking as he Hightails it out of there) may have to use my laptop though, I wonder if I can leave them apples? I had some weeds? that grow along the edge of my lawn and it's missing all it's leaves about 2/3of the length of it. I'll go out again today and see if they ate the other third while we were sleeping. No signs of Bear though, YAY!

The fall color pictures are coming too. I did take some, but I have to upload to the laptop and then post from there. So I have to draft on here, then upload on there then post to the draft. How sad is that? and I have a personal Tech... Sad! Maybe I really should pick up those programming and HTML books in the basement and learn this stuffs myself?


Interesting fact as told by the kid in grade 3! Covered Bridges are also called Kissing Bridges because they are dark enough to steal a kiss?This is what they are teaching in the school system up here...? I'm not so sure that's a good idea, I've met my Hubbie, I've heard his growing up stories. I've met their grandfather, I think it's genetic!

I've decided some of the other fall pics need their own post. So there may be more today or tomorrow. We've got cross country running tomorrow. I must remember to bring the Camera.

Friday Fill-ins Fall, You and Me? I Tried

1. One week ago _it was still summer, but well now it's definitely fall and if I thought the trees were colourful last week? This week is even more colourful. I need to get me some pictures to show you all___.

2. ___Kids could go out anywhere on their bikes and come home before the lights came on the poles,_______ when I was young.

3. Mama told me _____that if I kept making faces my face would stay like that, especially when sticking out my tongue at others___:P___.

4. __I have no idea if this sentence will turn out grammatically correct but maybe we can get it right together, nope see it doesn't suit to end with -------->_________ you and me.

5. Take your time ____and enjoy all fall has to offer. My Profile picture was taken last fall during this same weekend for what is called Open Cities,where different places of business and government services are open to the public. My Picture is me standing on top of a light house that usually costs 5.00 to go in and walk up but on "free" day it's free. Hubbie and I went last year alone but this year we are hoping to take the boys with us. It's a good walk or stroll down town. Last year we went on a tour of one of the oldest Anglican Churches in Canada, the Play House and the Light house. It's a lot to try to fit in within the 1-4pm window but I think it will be a great education. There are also sometimes live bands playing in the Park______.

6. _______I'm hoping that my youngest son's thumb sucking habit___ will pass!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _movies with the boys tonight it's raining now maybe it stop and we'll walk too____, tomorrow my plans include _time out and about with the boys, their full week of school will be over and we can move into weekend mode and enjoy each other instead of the "do this do that" of the school week____ and Sunday, I want to _get to mass and again have angels in my pew, the boys had their first school cold last week so didn't get there and I was bummed about that, they also missed Sunday School but with all this talk of the incoming Flu every sniffle is suspect you know? So we've had week of going to school with the common cold and getting healthy so bring on the weekend____!

Randome Tuesday Thoughs, Fall in 11ish hours!

Tuesday, it doesn't change much here, I'm going to just start rambling. Last weeks ramble got a bit long maybe I'll be randomly short this week?

Our local High School is raising money to go to Edinburgh (that totally looks like it needs an o in there?) and so they are going to be going door to door this week to collect loonies. I think it's a good idea, but I'd much rather them say "pick up garbage" vs be handed out loonies? what happened to the idea of raising money for these trips by working? i know they need time to practice and fit in all their homework but uh we had to do that too? well not "me" but I'm sure others I went to school with? I'm going to be getting my kids out there "earning" their loonies. I'm pretty sure there will be neighbours that need yard work completed?

The yard work? it's still out there, the yard actually for a change looks good, so I'm not waiting for the white stuff to cover up the mess yet,maybe next month. The leaves are turning and falling and it's pretty today. Amazing high for today to be 25C (77F) not bad. The first day of fall starts at 718pm tonight and did you knwo that today's daylight is only 12hours and 10minutes long? I just went playing around on the weather network web page today.


The critters count, more animals have shown up this week, a squirrel showed up on my back deck. I suspect he's going after the pine cone seeds that are all over the deck, he's not exactly shy though, and he's gray. We had Brown squirrels on the island, black in Ottawa and now here it's gray.

School is in full swing and my boys are reaching the age where they are competing for everything. They compete for who gets off the bus first, who gets off the bus last, who has how many friends, how long they can hold their breath. They both goes out for Cross country tomorrow, luckily they will be in different races! I could only imagine the pieces I'd have to pick up if they were together and competing?

my internet company is on my nerves again apparently we blue through out limit within 2wks? I'm hthing maybe some little boys were watching webisodes of their cartoons. Still no TV here, my inlaws are going to have a stroke come October when they visit. My FIL can't live without his TV and Sports fix, but no reception here means no TV.

OK I'm done rambling, isn't that shorter?

And...here we go!


1. My car _is a van with two sliding doors, but this week? my drivers side slider is stuck and according to my Hubbie and the guys at the shop it's going to take a LOT Of work to get it unstuck because it's not just stuck but locked and stuck and in order to fix it we have to get the unlocked to work! I'm not happy. I did get to drive the new car this week. I don't like it, it's a sporty car I feel small on the road____.

2. ___My Hubbie's Birthday________ is coming up next.

3. Lately, things seem ____rushed, now we have band, bowlingX3, Cross country Running X2, and me trying to fit in my work out time_______.

4. _____The bathtub, with a book,______ is one of my favorite 'hiding' places.

5. What happened ____to those days when my kids were tiny and liftable? Now I've got kids as tall as my shoulders or belly button_______.

6. _____Losing weight______ is not impossible! (not gaining it back is the hard part)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _my big walk while the kids are home playing with hubbie, and then maybe some movies with the kids____, tomorrow my plans include ___take the kids bowling, playground hopping while it's still warm enough, late night walking for me before the sun sets__ and Sunday, I want to __have great a Sunday mass experience as last week,I didn't have to waggle my finger or whisper to anyone in my family about their behaviour, it was calming and I was one happy Mommy, Praying we get a Sunday like that this week too___!

Walking Motivation and Me time

Oh look it's me again, back for another post. This totally come under the "me" part of my life. I love walking and walking fast, and getting the job done. It works much better when I have someone to walk with or music to listen to. This fall I'll be listening to music. I've lost my walking partner. We were slowly drifting apart for different reasons but this past year was the end. Her daughter is in her last year of Highschool, my youngest hasn't even gone to school yet. Her youngest is a year ahead of my oldest and that was our connection. My boys play with her boy. Her daughter was our sitter. Not now. Another wedge.

So my walks are a bit less then I'd like, when I had someone with me I'd go every night when I have no one there to go too, it's hard to motivate to get it done. My boys are not good walking company. It's hard to walk when you are telling other people to stay out of the middle of the street. My hubbie of late has been 'doing stuff before it's dark' and that's cutting into my walking time. I'm struggling. If only my bloggy friends would walk with me! I can't though walk with a laptop and I don't have a cellphone and I'd end up walking into traffic so I use my music. I plug in my earbuds (repeatedly they never stay in) and off i go. If it's getting dark fast? I've been known to run the last 1/4 mile. I'm not a runner. It's dangerous, there's that fear of concussion and possible chest related injuries.

Maybe I need a dog? A puppy wants to run fast right?

Tried to win me somme money today but I guess my fingers just aren't fast enough. Didn't make it to the 10th caller. next time they will do it again before noon.

Groceryday, must get food! you know real food so I can continue cooking meals. Tonight as AJ says "you have to go to school too today", it's Meet the teacher night.

i'm stuck on my laptop this week because my desktop wont show me anything! I suspect a video card was killed/maimed/distroyed in the rebuilding of my computer. The personal tech has been using and creating words I don't like.

This laptop keyboard drives me to insanity. I just accidently highlighted the whole post and it vanished into 1 letter. ACK! undoooooooooo

I think MJ might just fall asleep there. Maybe if he does that I can go back to bed? no that would be lazy, pushing almost 400.00 worth of food should be a workout right? I wonder if that's what the sign outside the grocery store means? "need a work out?" it came be the gym upstairs because those people just look to happy bouncing around. They all smile after they leave? it can't be a real work out, I've never smiled after busting my ass and leaving 400.00 at the cashier?

The Fall fair is over, I didnt' go we didn't take the kids and we didn't fork over 26.00 a person. YAY! that reminds me my van does need gas, I hate putting gas in my car, I need me a full serve gas station.

My Gas station likes me though because I get loyalty points also for buying various bad for me things in their convenience store and bread and milk and eggs! They are actually cheaper there which totally goes against what it used to be growing up. Convenience store = more $, not here.

That reminds me our babysitter now makes pizza down there instead of babysitting and that means I've got to book a different babysitter this month. GRRRRR


I feel bad that Patrick Swayze has died at 57! that's so young but I have to say it's not many in Hollywood that can say they were still married to their original wife! Pancreatic Cancer is so very scary. Is it just me or do you hear of more people having it? I can count 5 just in my head without thinking long about it.

Fall has been beautiful so far. Oh and I did get the tent to fit back in the bag! I worked hard saturday morning nd realized that I had to roll both tents that were in the bag and the fly around the long poles! win, I got MJ to sit on the bag while we zipped it and then we also zipped the extension down to small again. YAY!

The ShopVac got all the sand out of my van, I was tempted to get out the hose.

Oh and the laptop does know how to get my pictures off my camera YAY me. I did that yesterday but tell me how many of you have paper pictures in your home since the invention of digital cards? Both boys have asked for pictures to bring to school of themselves for projects. It took me a hour to figure out how to copy some pics from FB and then send them to my printer on this. Of course my little helper dudes were telling me they knew how to do it. Sadly they learn on Windows at school which doesn't always work the same for me and my linux machines.

Oh and the critter count increases, we were sitting at the dinning room table and I hear a scratching, I look out the closed patio door and see a chipmunk (ground squirrel the one with stripes) trying to climb up my patio window. MJ and I investigated and then thought about feeding him a single serving cup of Kraft PB but then I got all worried that his poor tiny jaw would stick together like a dog and a piece of gum? we took the PB back in. He'll be back I'm sure just to see MJ try and let him in. It was the funniest when he first started scratching because my window looked like one off those "squirrelized" pictures.
