10 things Learned on Vacation in &to Arizona

I was away last week. By looking at this blog you would think I was away a few months? HA!

Things I learned though while on the way to and in Arizona :

1.  Snow Yep Arizona gets snow.The higher you go up as with most places the colder it gets. The Grand Canyon vanished at one point the wind and snow were that  thick. Other visitors were not a prepared for said snow. Gift Shops I think do wonderful sales in sweats this time of year?
2. Cacti aren't for hugging. Heard some horror stories before we got to the hugging part.

3. People in AZ are so very friendly and happy when you smile. The man at he Circle K on Bell's Road directed us in the right direction.

5.  Airlines are super crowded. On an airplane if the person sitting beside you is thin? they think they are cats! I'm not skinny but my butt doesn't invade your space so your curved back while you lay in the seat sideways shouldn't ever have to touch my seat, my arms or my hips!  You Miss Finnish 15/16yrold are not a cat? You 35yrold lady with your fancy boots not designed for running in airports? are also not a cat, under the seat ahead of you doesn't mean infront of your seat as an obstacle to a bathroom. Also if that's your choice? I will be forced to fart out all the "Beans" offered me on my many visits to Mexican themed restaurants. No  I wont be warning you like I did my dear husband who I also left to his own relief. Again Skinny ladies you are not a CAT!

6. There are many more types of cacti than this one.  They are all sharp! but you can buy one in a gift shop. I did wonder how one would get a cactus across the border? I'm pretty sure that would end up at the custom guys desk?

7.You can meet and make friends anywhere! I met and sat with a family from Wisconsin. I was nervous I'd be all alone watching the Ceremony but these people kept me company. Congrats to their Graduate too.

8. TSA are super friendly when you keep it simple? I didn't ear any jewelry, I didn't buy anything crazy, I didn't have shoes dangling off my carry on like some husband I might mention. He did contemplate ditching the shoes but 15.00! for shoes he can wear anywhere? It was a good deal.

9. Kmart, is still great. Oh how I miss Kmart. And I'm sure this isn't a Kmart thing but an AZ thing,  an artifical Cedar Tree doesn't ever look like a Pine. You may want to change that label.
 I do not miss Target.  Khols is nice. I wanted to take all the furniture from JCPenny home store, home but it didn't fit in my bag. Darn space limitations.

10. If  my hubbie is in a huge crowd of people? I can still find him! the Blond curly locks help.  I'm very very proud of all he has accomplished he is nows a Master of Information Systems. Lots  of late nights lots of me raising kids and being the homework patrol so he could focus on his own work but here we are! You did it Honey,  I'm so very Proud of you!

This Little Step

I know I haven't been posting much, I've been in a slump with reguards to what I write and share. The school year has started back  and I suspect like others it feels like a beginning again for ourselves not just our children. 

I was fighting the end of summer, yes I still have 5days  officially but really once you get into back to school with the kids, routines and back to activities for the Fall, Winter and Spring season it really is a feeling of beginning again. I signed up my Son for Scouts again in the Spring so he's back at it. Early Registration for him? was fantastic because I really went nuts on the back to school shopping and we also have curling coming up.

But what you may ask about me? Well Me is still here, I'm still working on my weight loss goals and my activity goals. I'm working on a healthier me and will be working on it as a lifetime goal. Lifetime changes are here and will continue for a lifetime. I'm still going to ww meetings and this little tip here? was the best tip I learned from a meeting. Having a snack. My friend had a snack in her purse, she was looking for change for the vending machine but this here is not the wallet she found when she reached in. This is how I pictured her Magic Banana.  So today I took a picture of it for her. I hope she enjoys this!

Planning these little steps and snacks this week is my goal, and my Little Step that will keep me moving forward and Downward.

I was out of town for Canada Day, and well as you can see it's been since what? April Fools since I've written anything of interest to me? (you?? maybe?) So on we go.

Happy Canada Day Week! We got out this year to Halifax and had a fun time. We got to see Parts of Citadel Hill. Great to see people in Costume, and read about the history of the Fort. Most amazing to me was this...

This year was so much more fun than this time last year when Hurricane Arthur made Landfall and we were up to our ears in fallen trees and record rainfalls. As a nod to my two oldest Children we are too Celebrating Independence Day. My next move of the day is to get the berries to create some red white and Blue here.

April Fool's

So This is how my April Fool's went down. Yep I was told it was April,  but I think it still looks like February!

But there is Progress, calling for a high of 12c today. YAY! We'll see if April will continue to pull pranks on me.

Valentine's Weekend: Chairlene looks about ready to pop! Chairlton all alone buried deeper than Chairold of course is sinking further into winter February Blahs. Chairold while laying low, sticks by Chairlene's side.

Chairold tries to settle Chairlene down' It's a good thing March is on the way, they'll pull out the Beer then Dear and Greening the place up for Saint Patrick. I hear even the Beer is Green, now you just settle yourself down for the Spring Flings of March, yes yes Im watching the Ground hogs under here, don't you worry your little Snow Bump" (Chairold settles himself lower waiting for the sun to do some work, whatever The Sun considers work while rumours has it s/he's vacationing in the Tropics)

Chairlene and Chairold Winter 2014/2015

Last week the Chairs were arguing (you may have already read this on the FB page, but here we go again for those that missed out.)

"Chairold! Get up! you can't just lay there all winter!"
"Chairlene you are crazy if you think I'm just going to get up because you saw the Sun shining on your Back!"
"Chairold it's beautiful! you have to see it!"
"I saw it last winter I saw it the winter before, I am Done! I will not even get up from here until the Firepit is lit! and I'm standing next to a nice warm fire, now let me Hibernate!" growled Chairold, with his back frozen to the ground.

This weekend :

"Chairlene, are you happy now? The Sun is shining" , Chuckled Chairold. 
"Well it's not the same Chairold, But I see you are still stuck there on your back"
Chairold trying to wiggle a bit. "Yep, no point in moving now, but but I've got blankets now, how long do you think you can keep that snow before you lose your top? I'm sure the neighbours will be talking non-stop if you keep this up", snickered Chairold knowing all too well that Chairlene will be laughing come spring when he's still stuck to the frozen ground, but for now? He's got it covered.  (SWHDT?)
