Randomizing Tuesday Thoughts for School's Back in Session
It's Tuesday, the kids are back to School. I was not originally looking forward to today. The summer was fantastic, but now that the house is quiet, the kids are gone? I'm sitting here watching the birds eat up my lawn before they fly south.
I've seen and heard Blue Jays so far. I was so interested I even researched whether they fly south for the winter and found their call on a Wikipedia page. Very loud! No wonder I hear them so often. I also found out they are very aggressive through the page I read. Good thing too, cause I didn't want to find that out in person. Reading wins again.
(if I can get a pic of him, you might find it here)
In other news, the Chair? it died. Yep! well 25% of the Backyard abandon Chair population died. Yes I took a picture.
See I was using 2 of the 4 chairs we had back there, so no one really knew "which" chair was "the" chair but it seems people were upset. I had posted the pic to FB. There was call for a memorial page to "the chair". Well worry not dear readers, I'll be putting in a sibling sub for Chair. You will not miss out on the snowy Chair updates.
In other Back yard news, the Swingset will not be returning, it's been dismantled and slowly thrown to the curb. It was time. My youngest is 8 now, so he's decided "I can just drive my bike to the park, or we can do the parks in town". Who knew that the youngest would be the one to let go the quickest. (no I'm not crying that's a eyelash in my eye, darn you pollen)
The Critter Count has changed. We did not see any fox this year, or bears. But our new critter of the yard? Is Mr Pew! yes you read it right we now have a skunk. He's moved in under the baby barn. I'm not super upset by his location because (thank you Wikiapedia again) I've learned he'll eat mice. Mice! YAY! no mice in the house, or the barn. Winning!
So is it just me? or is anyone else counting down the hours until their kids come home? Did anyone else follow the buses in? Or am I the only one fighting the urge to let my kids OWN their own School experiences?
Must not email the teacher yet, must not email the teacher yet, must not... Yikes! this year may be hard! Mr Tall is in High School now, Mr Middle is owning the Middle of Middle School and Mr Babe is owning the Middle of Elementary. Just a little Email? No must not be "That MOM!"
BTW lunches? No notes, no flower shaped veggies and NO extra treats. Oh good neighbour mom is hear to discuss her first first day! YAY!!!

Randomizing Tuesday Thoughts (missing Stacy)
I'm sure if we all put out heads together we can get Stacy procrastinating enough she'll post a Random post? It's worth a shot ?Or we'll just have to do it for her. Next She'll be going the way of the Keely! Who knows what Washington State will bring? Am I right Stacy?
Using last weeks Random for this.
Julie has an Random up too, I don't know that she planned it to be random, with all that Who has Football lunches?
She's looking for lunch ideas sans peanuts as they say here in bilingual Canada. No I don't speak french well. I just eavesdrop in french.
I'm also looking for lunch ideas. 1 child thinks he's sandwich intolerant. (read hates sandwiches). He can't eat Peanuts at school either. They have a great cafeteria staff but 2.00+ for pizza a day gets pricy for a whole year.
healthy? travel friendly? (ie can be turned upside down in a book bag full of unfinished homework) and cheap?
I've done the whole bake it into a muffin thing a few times, and that's worked but by June? they'll be sick of it. There are only 4 more weeks of summer here.
More random? the boys are enjoying the batting cage, but don't stay out very long. I think like their Mom the pull of the electronics is strong. I've got a book sitting here to read and yet I'm posting blogs, reading blogs, and playing silly games. I think A trip to the beach might be a good idea, I can't plug in there, well I could if I turn on my data but who wants to do that?
Oh and did you see? I won! yes I won something, I entered over at Tottums! Yep Won!
I did though figure out how to put Lexulous on my phone, now I'm not so slack in remembering to take my turns.
I think it feels less like summer this week because I'm not on the island. This is usually the time of year we end up there visiting family. Also where do all your kids play all summer? My kids are like hermits, other than baseball, beach and BBQes in the back yard? Their friends are all with their families or gone to camps?
oh did you hear? Chair has competition this year. The Purple one is MINE!
