In Rememberance and Thank you

I borrowed this picture from a friend on FaceBook. Here in Canada we use the Poppy as a symbol of Remembrance of our fallen soldiers of our fight in WWI and now any war after.  The Poem in Flanders Fields is used in almost all Remembrance Ceremonies, John McCrae didn't forget his friend.

The idea is that we will not forget but when you look around today? Have we really forgotten? Are we not currently still in a war.  It seems as if we haven't remembered that war comes at a price, that the fighting is continuing, in a different time and maybe a different place.  Canada's Troops are still trying to balance peace keeping and surviving. I don't even know the numbers of Canadian Men and Women that have died, I'm not sure I want to know. I do know that living here close to a Military Community it's hard to ignore.

So Today I say Thank you! to those that fought before, and for those that fight and negotiate today for Peace on Earth.   Today at 11am, I saw that my boys do value these men and women and families,  my house was quiet, my boys were listening to the Radio for 2minutes of Silence. My family is still Remembering will you?
