the most middle at the bottom of the patio steps, I tried to make an ice path off to the right part but silly mild winter isn't cooperating, I'm going to get 3 days of +C temps so either that will melt out the bumps or evaporate my ice, maybe if I water it over night it will refreeze? I'll just experiment this is my first year trying this.

The smoothest end to the right of the patio
the middle and off to the left, a bit grassy<----- this is where I was skating lastnight from that line (where the wood used to be when we had sides pre-january crazy melt season)
and this was last nights blah blah
Last night my rink was more frozen so at 821pm all boys in bed, and dh lazying arround, I took off for the ice. I was only out there for 15minutes, my socks weren't in my skates right so my feet hurt, but I was alone to think and just skate. I could hear the sound of my blades on the ice and it's just a great feeling, I'm getting more stablized out there, I've been out 5 times in the last 2wks, but being out there alone with your thoughts, the sounds of the scraping ice and the trees in the wind, it's these days I really really enjoy living "out in the woods". I'm not that far from town and my neighbours are a 2minute walk from door to door if that but it feels quieter, homier and safer than all the other homes we've owned.

Too cool!! That looks like lots of fun, especially being out there alone and just "being"!
Today there is a lot less ice, it was 12C yesterday so everything melted which is good for smooth but not good for keeping the water out there, so today I have puffs of grass in spots, I'm hoping to get out tonight anyway and skate arround the puffs
