I have to ask this question. I have 3 boys all out to school today. I'm sitting here sipping my tea. I have to clean the house, I have someone coming to talk to me tomorrow at 10am about doing some "product sales" as I will call it. It's all "door to door" "web to site" or whatever. I wont give you all the details until I know them. I know I love the company's products so why not spread the love?
So in preparation for this meeting tomorrow, I'm looking around the house and noticing all the dust that I've left sit for the 7yrs we've lived here. I know I did some preChristmas or Pre EasterBunny or even Speed cleaning for guests (that are family) during those Seven years? but really? How on earth do the rest of you people manage to keep up?
Where do I start? I was sitting in the hall lastnight with a wash rag removing spots of unknown origin. I've also come to realize I totally need a new Vacuum. How is it that I've been using this thing and thinking it's picking up anything. There is Duct Tape on the hose! (psssssssssssttttttttt sears Canada? send me a free vacuum? just saying)Soooooooooo what ever will I do. I asked Hubbie with a wiggly eye whatever will I do now that he house is empty? (he hadn't left for work) and he says "Clean?"
I said "If you say that again?I'm going to have to throw a Tote full of STUFF you left hanging around the front door at you! because you really don't get it!"
OK what are the rest of you all doing now that your kids aren't in the house? Please someone tell me?

Cleaning the whole house all at once is a ridiculous idea that so many of us try once in a while. I have a cleaning schedule that hangs on my kitchen wall. That way I don't have to think about when the last time I scrubbed the toilet was. I know that the children and husband made it that gross in 5 days since i lat cleaned it!
A friend of mine noted that my schedule is mostly floor care. I would like to know if everyone else's floors go through the havoc mine go through?
Oh, I SO feel your house cleaning pain.
I'll admit it - - - I HATE HOUSE CLEANING. I have to take myself in hand and face it a bit at a time.
Good luck - - -
And remember, your BLOG is always nice and clean with nary a BIT of dust hanging around.
:-)
you should make a quilt. it takes up lots of time
Duh! Blogging! Reading blogs! Going on facebook to say something witty!
Although, Bex's idea of a 'schedule' is helpful...if you can stick to it. The dust around here is legendary...
Well, my kids are still here! I TRY do one room at a time. Tuesday is the kitchen, Wednesday is the bathrooms, Thursday is the living room and dining room, Friday is the bedrooms, thank God I have a little house!!
The playroom, well, I clean that once every blue moon!
When my children were young and in school I was an OCD cleaner. I cleaned from the time they went to school until they got home. Now my daughter cleans the house and has helped me out for a few years now.
That however has made me even more lazy and with my COPD I really can't do a lot anymore. My husband wants me to get a housekeeper but I just can't trust anyone in my house!! Do something each day and before you know it you will have a sparkling home. The big picture is overwhelming, one day at a time is the best way to go.
Why bother I say when you jsut have to repeat it all hte next day! Now, about this sales business. What exactly are you going to be selling? Mark Kay? Tupperware? Do tell!
Cleaning...LOL. Falling off my chair. Clean? what for? It's just going to get dirty again. I'll think about cleaning when the last little one goes off to school. In three more years.
I'm cleaning too (& I hate every minute of it...)
picking up the toys and enjoying them STAYING up while the girls are gone!
You know what? Every time I love a bloggy friend, I end up flying to them if I can. So far it's only been one friend to Kansas but I'm about to fly to Texas for another. I wish Canada was smaller because I really want to see you and Keely and I might run to Florida and hug Casey. I hate that I missed BlogHer because a lot of people I'd fly to are there.
I need to get more frequent flier miles. I have a passport.
I feel your pain - my house is a disaster, and I don't know where to start! I usually focus on one room at a time to try to get things back in order after the mini-tornado that is Princess Nagger has been through, but between her and the hubby, they can make a huge mess that's intimidating! So I've had to learn to let go of my OCD about having everything clean and in its place, because it only lasts about 2.5 seconds! ;)
