Wednesday Hodge Podge, my first go at this one...

Since I don't have a pic for today's WW I decided to give this a whirl go on click the button and get yourself some hodgepodge...

1. Will you watch the Super Bowl? If so, who will you cheer for? If you are not from the USA what is the 'big deal' sporting event in your own country?

Well Hockey is my "big deal" sport really, did you see the Olympics last year? we're big on Hockey here. I took my son skating yesterday with his school. It was his first time on the ice. I know I failed as A Canadian mom having him out there only once in his short but almost 6 Canadian years of life. My only full Canadian and he's only now learning to skate. This may call for some intervention. I did though watch the Football Finals on Sunday. I'm going to be having some people over on the 6th? (do I even have the right date?) For a Superbowl Party and really if yo know me? It's a Movies for the kids upstairs while the men make noise in the basement kind of deal. 

2. Is ignorance bliss?

Sometimes... but I know of a huge situation that got way out of hand due to ignorance. I think I'll say NO really.

3. Which of the seven dwarfs are you? (and just in case your Disney is a little bit rusty, here they are-Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy).
I think today I'm Happy, with only a Touch of Grumpy. I'd be a bit happier if more Grumpy would show up because I'm due for some Grumpy. I think walking almost every night of the last 3wks has been a huge help with keeping Grumpy at Bay but you know a little Grumpy can come in handy now and then. 

4. When you are riding in the car with another couple how do you organize seating? (Men up front? Women up front? Couples sit together?)

I'm currently stuck with riding in cars with kids and with 3 kids there isn't exactly room for couples. The boys though are devided! two in the two captains chairs in the middle and 1 wayyyy in the back by himself with a whole bench seat to himself. It works much better. When we are in hubbie's car? It's not sane I tell you it's just not sane.


5. What is beauty?

interesting, I was just watching a video of Madonna today singing Vogue and the words are totally on the target... "beauty's where you find it..." And it's true. No one knows what another person is going to see.

6. If someone asks you to bring an appetizer or a dessert to a party in their home, which would you choose?

 

If it's my friend that is off flour? it's a Mashmellow roll, no flour at all, just chocolate, cherries,mashmellows and coconut. Yummy, if it's for kids? ice cream. 

appetizer?I never think of these.. let me see.. nachos and cheese dip?

7. What is your crowd pleasing go-to appetizer?

really? I don't have one. I usually host appetizers are left out so that the kids will eat their main meal. I think I need to have more friends over.

It's -22C this morning, and I sent all the boys to get the bus, I tried to reschedule a Dentist appointment this morning because one place says 20Cm of snow coming and another says 5cm. The girls at my dental office have a cute "don't let M... cancel" because I'm such a procrastinator. oops!

Random Iced up Bedroom Window

Yes first things first.

yeah click on that get a button of your own and randomize. I think I"ve been doing this now for almost 2yrs? so maybe it's time for me to stop giving directions? I guess though the directions like a middle school writing project, results in more words on the page? So yeah ok read the words.

Speaking of Middle school. Did you know that if you have a "quiz" it's really a test but the teachers are trying not to give you test jitters.

I met MJ at the rink today, they were skating with their class, they did ok with it really. I was impressed how some 5-6yrolds can really move their butts! I'm not a very good Canadian Hockey Mom, I didn't enroll my kids in Hockey ever... (hangs head in shame)I did though watch a football Game Sunday (and 1/2 of another) with my American boys... so maybe that's progress? or maybe not.

Saturday we had a lot of snow down and I looked out and my lawn seemed to be a "Boys only Zone" two Dad's 3 of my boys, 1 older neighbour boy, and the other Dad's Son?" and only -18C so I said uh "I'll stay in and clean house, you'vegot the boys zone covered" hahah And hid in my flannel pjs with tea and toast.

The toast monster is at it again. It' keeps jumping in my mouth causing all kinds of winter insulation (read=fat) It's hard to walk when you are hiding from the winter cold! -32 today at outside the rink,which made -4C in side the rink feel almost warm. (for those keeping score -40C and -40F are the same!!) In my worse French ever "Tres F**king Brrrrrrrrr" :)

I think the University Rink's website has a virus, I got all kinds of warnings this morning. I guess if something happens today with all my avon orders and blogs and games then Linux will have caught a winter bug? for a change. That reminds me I NEED more tea, it's COLD in here.

Friday Fill ins Winter Accepting the Snow

1. So many of us __have what we need inside us_.

4. ___The snow plow__ is waiting quietly.  (I must learn to accept this)

5. Light is in both the __window and the porch___.


6. __Winter having snow is part___ of all that is ordinary.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to __watching the snow fall from the warmth of my house___, tomorrow my plans include __Shoveling out so I can get out and walk___ and Sunday, I want to __rest and relax and walk walk walk___!
