This weekend is not a long weekend here in Canada. We did though make the most of the weekends. This is our plan for the whole summer. Get out and get some air and sun and fun because soon enough we have to resort to making sliding into snow banks fun!
We finally got out Sunday to the Beach Park and picked up our pass. I was mistaken in our $'s it was 54.00 last year and has climbed to 70.00. The reason for the increased cost we're told is for the price of upkeep right? so we would assume that because of this, we wont be stepping into land mines of Goose, Deer, or fox poo right? We'll see. While we were sitting and watching the kids

Mr Park worker came along and asked us to move our van out of the current parking spot and over to the further away one or up past the roped off barrier. OK that sounds good, they are going to clean up the park way and fill in the holes. Hubbie goes off to move van with Mr Park. So that's good news. I stay with the boys, and they play and I watch and they show me their arm men they found in the pile and they talk of mass death counts, and I just smile and say "yes dear"(inside me I'm trying to say, it's only a game). Hubbie comes back and says, while yes they are filling in the holes? yeah they aren't going to cover over the grass growing up through the parking lot and this was Mr Park's last day of work? He's leaving. A lot of the workers have been laid off and some are leaving for more secure jobs! I suspect the park's upkeep will be downkeep and I'll honestly be shocked if I see enough life guards in these chairs...

We did though enjoy the time at the beach, the temperature of the air was comfy, the boys had lots of fun playing in the sand. I took MJ for a walk down the beach and in typical 4yrold fashion he told me about everything he saw. I took pictures of his toes in the sand.

I went for a walk without the kids, Hubbie went for a walk without the kids. There were maybe 10 people on the beach all at once. Someone was there to either write or draw. Pad in hand she was working away at a picnic table. I laid in the sand and watched the clouds. It was a very good soak it up before it's all gone kind of day.

Beautiful pictures! Sounds like you guys had an awesome time :)
The boys totally loved it. I loved that I didn't spend the day directing in house traffic. Winter was long last year, I'm hoping summer will last this year. OF course just remind me when I'm complaining it's too hot?
Looks like it turned out to be a beautiful day!! Love the pictures! :) So...since the park guys are leaving for more secure jobs, and the maintenance will probably slide, are they going to reduce the cost? ;)
What a nice relaxing day. Sounds like yall had a wonderful time. TFS
Love the pictures.
No, they JUST upped the cost. They also took out some other services for next winter. I think they are removing the parks keepers that clear the outdoor ice rinks, so out door skating will probably suffer. I'll worry about that in about 5months. They're all "get kids active, play with your kids," and then they take away the options. I can only imagine what they will do with the playground parks, or not do. I guess that's another post for another day...
Great pictures! It is way too hot down here in Florida. We hit 95 degrees yesterday with 80% humidity and it was only 11 in the morning. Sprite was out with John in the kiddie pool for less than 30 minutes with sunscreen and came back in with a dark tan.
Since April the boys have been growing tall, the more sun is the best thing ever for that, but as you can see my boys are very fair and sunburn even with sunscreen happens.
That sounds like a great day. I'm glad you finally got out to the beach with the kids but I'm sorry they're laying off people and the upkeep might suffer.
Nice toes in the sand!
The toes in the sand are my favorites.
