Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

I started this post yesterday but Thankfully, my children saw the need to take my USB cable. Thankfully because I spent the day with them, slaving in the kitchen to produce this!!!
(poor guy didn't have a chance after I invited him to dinner)
Thankfully everyone helped.  Hubbie made bread crumbs from bread while I was at mass. AJ finished the job because instead of 8 pieces Hubbie heard 5.
MJ went to the store with AJ and Daddy to get peanut butter because what is a house without peanut butter. (also I needed to concentrate on the turkey)

I'm thankful for Superstore for letting me buy a turkey at "regular" price while it was on sale and having me go back to the store to get my money back. I loved the way they implied it was "my" mistake that they over charged me for my 4.94kg Turkey.(difference of 6.45canadian dollars) Thank you for doing your own leg work after me standing at your customer Service Counter for 15minutes (you said it was 10? really who is the customer, I said it was 20minutes, let's meet in the middle?). Thank you for finally giving me the difference in price, even after your mistake which according to store policy is to refund me the full price of the defrosting bird.(thank you for letting me use run on sentences) I could have brought him back to the store in his 1/2 frozen state. He was tasty after I plucked out the leftover feathers that Presidents Choice neglected to remove before bagging it in a GRADE A package, with the fine print that reads "graded before adding gibblets". (CYA statements?)

Thank to TJ for staying home from the trip to the Peanut Butter store (not Superstore btw) and helping me basted the turkey by reminding me when the time came. I think he just wanted to open the store repeatedly to smell Turkey doing his thing.

Thank you for Canada for having a holiday this weekend, and not leaving us out of that Columbus Day party down south. It's a great excuse for a turkey and visiting family and friends.

Thank you earth for growing Carrots and for the person that invented vegetable peelers. I can't imagine how many fingers I'd have lost or how much carrot and potatoes would be left if I had to resort to the knife plan.

Thank you Tenderflake, Sheriff and Goodine's Poultry Farm for helping me achieve Lemon Meringue success. I'd hate to have to go to SS to buy a Pie after that turkey price fiasco.

Thank You all for reading my rambling posts, about life and days here.

Happy Thanksgiving Canadians! And for my US readers and family, I'll do this again in November but I'll buy my Turkey elsewhere.

(sorry if you are getting this repeatedly, my pictures aren't lining up)

We got Mail!!! Thank you note!

I've been on the internet now since I met My Hubbie in 1992, and in the words of my new friend in a note I received yesterday "The world just keeps getting small" and you know she's so right. I've met some really nice people online. I love reading blogs, I love reading emails from real people. Yesterday I got some more Friendly internet interaction. I love replying to blogs, I love talking to you all. I love that you read my blog, cause really it's all about attention for me. But yesterday, some of that attention shifted to my AJ.

A bit back Headless Mom over at The Adventures of the Headlless Family Posted about her HBs being done with Pokemon cards. My boys are just getting into it. Funny how that works. I think both our boys are about 7ish?
The post by Headless Mom was here And being a good reader I replied, and learned a bit more about Pokemon.

Yesterday when Hubbie got home he had the mail pile, you know the "bills" I'd really wish Bill would change his address, I'm tired of cleaning up his dirty work. In the middle of the pile. I see a package! YAY! package. I had just been talking to Headless Mom the night before about the fact that it can take 2wks sometimes for mail to come from 7hours away, her mail was coming from the west Coast of the USA, we are patient. Also anticipation is part of the fun! really who doesn't love to get mail!!

So we gave AJ the envelope, and my batteries died on my camera! can you believe this? yep we have a Kodak that's about 3yrs old, it now will only recharge it's own batteries, it used to take disposables or other rechargeable, not now. (sorry Tangent.. there) He was so excited about what was in the package he ran from the Dinning room to the sofa to examine the cards. Do you know how many times a child of a mom from the 80s says "oh cool!!"? Many I lost count, he was so very excited. He then said "and there's a note for mom!" YAY I like getting mail too. Headless Mom wrote me a lovely note. I love making new friends. I had called her "friend" before, I call you all friends really, but this is icing on the cake.

The Best Part of all this? it arrives on Earth Day!!! I'm just so sorry that I didn't get to writing this post yesterday to post. This is our R! reducing landfills, yes the cards are paper and yes they will break down but before that ever happens, there's a chance for these cards to be "reused"!
Thanks for the Headless Mom and her Headless Boys, from me and my KyootBoy :)
