Tuesday, it doesn't change much here, I'm going to just start rambling. Last weeks ramble got a bit long maybe I'll be randomly short this week?
Our local High School is raising money to go to Edinburgh (that totally looks like it needs an o in there?) and so they are going to be going door to door this week to collect loonies. I think it's a good idea, but I'd much rather them say "pick up garbage" vs be handed out loonies? what happened to the idea of raising money for these trips by working? i know they need time to practice and fit in all their homework but uh we had to do that too? well not "me" but I'm sure others I went to school with? I'm going to be getting my kids out there "earning" their loonies. I'm pretty sure there will be neighbours that need yard work completed?
The yard work? it's still out there, the yard actually for a change looks good, so I'm not waiting for the white stuff to cover up the mess yet, maybe next month. The leaves are turning and falling and it's pretty today. Amazing high for today to be 25C (77F) not bad. The first day of fall starts at 718pm tonight and did you knwo that today's daylight is only 12hours and 10minutes long? I just went playing around on the weather network web page today.
The critters count, more animals have shown up this week, a squirrel showed up on my back deck. I suspect he's going after the pine cone seeds that are all over the deck, he's not exactly shy though, and he's gray. We had Brown squirrels on the island, black in Ottawa and now here it's gray.
School is in full swing and my boys are reaching the age where they are competing for everything. They compete for who gets off the bus first, who gets off the bus last, who has how many friends, how long they can hold their breath. They both goes out for Cross country tomorrow, luckily they will be in different races! I could only imagine the pieces I'd have to pick up if they were together and competing?
my internet company is on my nerves again apparently we blue through out limit within 2wks? I'm hthing maybe some little boys were watching webisodes of their cartoons. Still no TV here, my inlaws are going to have a stroke come October when they visit. My FIL can't live without his TV and Sports fix, but no reception here means no TV.
OK I'm done rambling, isn't that shorter?

The kids are collecting 'loonies'? What are loonies? I'm guessing not lunatics... or maybe they are... ;)
Mother Nature gave us cold temps two nights in a row - but now it's back to humid for the next couple of days with a last minute burst of heat. Sounds like you're having the perfect weather day today! :)
Ahhh! The competition stage! I remember it well as a kid competing with my brother and sisters...that's one of the few times I'm thankful I only have one kid. ;)
We'd never survive limited internet - we'd probably blow through the limit in a matter of days.... :)
Happy RTT! :)
Loonies. I thought they were a type of bird.
That's what I love about Tuesdays, we can just ramble! Love you!
thanks for the C-F conversion. so helpful. And I didn't realize today was the first day of fall until you said.
Is the internet wireless? Because people can steal that, you know.
the internet isn't being stolen, it's just limited 95G doesn't go far with 3 kids and a addicted mom. We also don't have cable or any TV so what we watch online sucks up the time.
Loonies=1.00 coin, I've been back in Canada too long I forget that others don't "Get" it~!
Thanks all for the comment love
It's scary how fast the seasons are changing! Peanut has been noticing the changing colours of the leaves and I actually saw one tree that is losing its leaves already! It's too soon!!!
I remember that competitive thing. My kids did that too and when they got older they competed for the front seat!
Those temps sound great because its over 100 here still today!
It does not feel anything like fall here. I wouldn't even consider yard work, I'd get heat stroke, or at least heat annoyance. ;)
We used to regularly have squirrels outside our back door. I would feed them cheerios. I liked to watch their little hands maneuver the food. They are adorable!
You have limited internet and no tv? Are you living in 1950?
Honestly, it would be somewhat peaceful to live that way but I love the freedom of having as much internet time as I want and watching any of my 70 (only 70!!) channels whenever.
Wait, you have an internet limit? In 2009? That's crazy.
My kids do the competitive stuff already but it's usually stuff like shove all their food in their mouth at once so the other kid doesn't steal it. Nobody has choked yet.
Okay, so what's a loonie? LOL
I was going to ask what loonies are too so I'm glad I read your answer above :-) I remember having to do fundraising in High School (I was in Special Chorus) by selling stuff. Now my daughter brings home one fundraiser after another and she's only in First Grade! And it's all so expensive -- sigh.
We have very bossy squirrels here -- they terrorize the cats by running around on the deck (the cats are inside) and "yelling" at them :-)
My two are already competitive -- I think I must say at least once a day -- not everything is a competition! I can just imagine how much fun they will be in a few more years!
I don't mind yardwork, but I've get a ferocious reaction to poison ivy (I've got it right now!) and tend to shy away ... unless it's a mulched bed.
